I built a 400 square foot cabin with this using 2 different length Dwalt nails, it was a workhorse, I used 6 ah batteries and I was getting almost a full day of hard use out of a single charge. A little slower than a gun hooked to a compressor hose but so much easier than dragging a hose around. $ well spent.

This seems to be a decent nail gun. The only problems I’ve had with it was driving ring shank nails. It does not work so well with ring shank nails. It will drive framing nails all day long. Has kind of a slow recovery time but if you’re not in a hurry, this will work just fine.

I like this better than the paslode, but it has some issues.The weight is significant, and I'm no wimp, but it's a beast to lug about.The belt clip is absolute crap!!!! Come on, DeWalt - seriously?? This is the worst feature about it. I took mine off (after it fell off twice) and took a clip from their 18 gauge brad nail gun, modified it, and put that on. That's much better, but whatever idiot designed that clip should be fired.Loading the nails is annoying. You have to pull the slide back first, and it rarely stays back the first time. It would be handy if you could load the nails first and then pull the slide back, but no such luck. Not a big deal, though - just annoying.The unjam lever is totally useless. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't even hooked up to anything at all but is merely a marketing gimmick to trick people into buying this.And speaking of jamming, when this thing jams, it really jams, which is, I'm sorry to say, more frequent than the Paslode. The whole tool is stuck onto the nail, which is stuck halfway into the wood, so you have to wrench it all out. I wonder what kind of damage that does to the tool. And with something that jams so often, you'd think they would have a tool-less way to open the front to clear it out, but you need to use an allen wrench. There's one on the tool, but it's difficult to get off - it certainly won't ever fall off, but you almost need a screwdriver to pry it out. A couple quick turns on two screws and your jam is clear. Tighten them back down, put the wrench away, and you're good to go until the next jam.Really it's not that bad nor that frequent, but it would be handy if the whole process were faster.It takes a second for the motor to rev up to speed before you can use it, but you get used to that really quick. I love that I don't need a fuel cell.I totally love the combo action - bump feature or trigger feature on the same setting. You can flip a lever to switch it to 'single-action,' but I keep it on the 'single-double action' setting. Love it.I've not had any significant difficulty with non-dewalt nails. Used 3 different brands so far, and they all seem to work equally well.Altogether a great gun, but the belt clip and jam clearing knock it down a star.

DeWalt cordless nailer is a great tool. As a contractor we have 5 in total and have completely phased out our air powered equipment. Long run times on the batteries. Annually we have the return springs and profiles replaced as they are the wear parts of these nailers but the rest of the tool holds up extremely well in real world conditions. Much nicer then the battery/gas nailers and you will never miss dragging an airline

This nailer gets the job done. The guys using it are really happy as very little time lapse between trigger pull and nail release. Easy to load.

The gun works great. People with bad reviews are complainers because they are comparing this gun to an Pneumatic nailer. This gun works great for framing. I own 3 and I have a jamb here and there but not really a problem. The biggest reason why people are having so many jams is because they aren’t using the correct nails. You have to use dewalts nails. Which in my area, home depo nor Lowe’s carries them. So I order them a head of time from amazon. That’s the draw back if your on a jobsite and run out. If you can find a store that carries the specified dewalt nails your in luck. Don’t use paslode nails. They will jam almost every time. They must be slightly bigger then dewalts nails. So pros, great gun, 20v. No gas needed, no maintenance (so far) and works faster then a paslode. Key is to make sure your patient with the nailer and let the motor rev all the way or the nail will either jam or not shoot properly. Bump option works fine. Once your used to it. Just need to learn the tool. Real easy to clear jams. I don’t know why people are complaining about taking so long. And of course it’s a big possibility of a jamb when you hit a knot. Cons, purchasing dewalt nails not readily available. Makes a lot of sense Home Depot sells this gun but not the nails. Real smart.UPDATE***** I found that the paslode nails, that you can purchase at Lowes, that come in a clear case, that the tip of the nails are "black" and not green, actually work perfectly in the nailer. the downside is the clear case also comes with a gas canister that works for the paslode nailer that is completely useless. but the nails work perfectly. remember if the tips of the nails are not black, then they most likely will be green and will jam.

Bought this about a month ago and started to use it on my shed/carport project. Works like a charm. Not too familiar with nail guns so this was the first time truly exposed to usage. Love it! A little on the heavy side with the power pack but still, no air or power cords to worry about which is great.I mainly have used the 3-1/4" ring framing nails and the 2" smooth nails and both work great. Just make sure you follow instructions for how to setup the gun for either size nails which is very easy once you know what to do. You can even adjust the depth of the nail heads penetrating the wood. Great option to make sure they don't go too far or too short for that matter. Can't comment yet on how long the battery (DB204) lasts with one charge but will find out after this summer.Bottom line, so far I would recommend to purchase this product for the average "home" project builder. Professionals may think otherwise but for this DIY'er, it is just great!!

I bought this framing nailer to build some 2x4 walls in the basement, a platform and storage shed in the backyard, and some other projects such as quickly repairing rail fencing, etc. It performs very well - shooting 3 1/2" common and galvanized nails nicely. I don't really use bump mode much, as I like to position my nails pretty precisely. It's an expensive tool that I really can't justify financially for only home use - but I really like not having to have a compressor to power it, and to be free of the power cord, hoses, etc. This brushless nailer runs for a LONG time on a single charge of the 4 amp battery, and I have multiple batteries.I had looked at the Paslode and Hitachi cordless framing nailers, but I didn't want to get into the gas cartridge arena. Those things make a mess, and you have to keep buying the cartridges forever.I recently bought a slew of the DeWALT 20V Li-Ion Max power tools, and I really like all of them. I got the Circular Saw, the Jigsaw, the brushless Hammer Drill/Impact Driver combo, the Oscillating Tool, and the brushless Framing Nailer. They are all fantastic tools. I bought the kit version of each tool - to get the battery, charger, case or bag, and other accessory goodies that do not come with the bare tool "B" versions. If they come out with any other 20V Max tools, I'll probably get those too. It's great having the same battery and charger to power all of my cordless tools.Highly recommend!
