Chews up concrete. I’d suggest a shroud.

Used it for finishing edges and tight to reach spots after floor grinding before finish.

This thing really bites in. If you have a decent grinder, this thing really puts in some work, and surprisingly, holds up VERY well. I expected it to degrade quickly, but it didn't.One warning though: if you are grinding concrete, dust mitigation is a serious problem, so think well ahead. You will be washing down everything within a 100ft radius of this thing when you are finished.

These work well. I am grinding cement floor. Some parts of the floor had thinset from previous ceramic tile install. I used a rotary hammer, and a broom, to remove most of the thinset. Other parts of the floor just had some paint and carpet glue. I am using the grinder on approximately 2100 square feet. One of these lasts me about 400 square feet. I notice that on the Dewalt 5 inch grinder that if I turn down the RPMs to the the 2.8 to about the 3.5 range it works very well. It seems like going full throttle at the highest setting is not necessary (for my project). Toning it down makes it last longer! I also used a DW4777T with with slanted teeth, which did not seem to last as long. But, I did run the T model full throttle! But both products seem to work well for preparing my cement floor for a new tile install.

This style wheel with concentric rings gives good performance and long life when grinding surfaces flat. The edge of the wheel works to grind into the adjacent surface as the tool and wheel are moved side-to-side. (Wheels with turbine vanes tend to be aggressive at taking down material but also tend to wear faster.) The edge of the wheel limits the amount of material that can be ground-away in a pass. The 5" diameter wheel needs a reasonably powerful grinder to drive it without spinning too fast. Match the RPM ratings. This type of grinding can create a great deal of noise, flying debris and dust. Dust can be reduced by keeping the surface wet with flowing water. Eye and hearing protection for anyone in the area are a must.

After giving up on finding a better machine to resurface our concrete slab, we finally bought an angle grinder with dust shroud and this cup. We were very pleased with how well it worked and how long it lasted.

Well made. Aggressive! Help reducing time taking off thinset in any area. Combined this wheel with a good VS grinder, with a dust shroud a decent vacuum ... Made my jobs easy and stress free! Will do the same for anyone, I think!

Takes off thinset without the slightest hesitation. Durability is average. Nothing to write home about.Common knowledge but, make sure to keep the wheel completely flat on the surface you are removing thinset from. If you don't you can gouge the concrete very quickly.

Grinds concrete almost too good. You don't need the special vac adapter grinder, but it does make a difference when you are working inside for dust collection. It will fit a regular grinder, but beware of the flying chips and dust.
