It was a tiny bit complex to set up, but not horrible. The reason for the one star deduction is the lacking of more help in the manual. I'm not a botanist or anything like that and didn't feel like I got a lot of help with how to set this up. The manual basically just said something like: use the tubes and connectors to set up the system. No real advice on how to hook them up. When to use which type of connector. What to do when you have a big plant that needs more water and smaller plants that need less. Similar with the step of how to set up the automation. It just said things like: you can choose between 10 seconds and 10 minutes. Stuff like that. I little bit of help on what settings to choose would be great.My first attempt I picked 5 minutes (with the help of ChatGPT). But the 5 minute slow drop was more of a 5 minute stream and my plants totally overflowed. Again with the help of ChatGPT I then did a test of how much water each plant gets in the span of one minute, by putting the stakes in cups instead of in the plants and setting it to manual for 1 minute. I had three stakes and each got 1/2 cup in one minute. So based on that info, ChatGPT is making suggestions of what settings could probably work. He's suggesting something like 10 seconds every 2 or 3 days.I still have to perfect the settings before going on my trip, but am waiting for the plants to recover from the 5 minute disaster. However, water does flow to my three stakes and it does listen to the automatic settings. It's also not very difficult to set it all up. It's just lacking more advice. So 4 stars.

I got this for two reasons. I have one room that isn't frequently used unless we have guests, but it's got great light and the plants love it. What the plants don't love is that I forget to check on them and they can sometimes whither up and die waiting for me to remember them. I love the Diafield auto water timer because it's so easy to set up and does what it should. I couldn't believe how easily I had it set up and going. I love that I can fill a bucket and they'll be happy while I'm gone on vacation. This will definitely increase their odds of survival for when I forget to check on them for a couple of weeks.This would be a great gift for any house plant lover. I already think of 3 friends who would love to have this set up for their plants. it's great for those hard to reach pots that go up on a shelf or in the back of the high window sill. Already debating about getting another one for our bathroom plants! Huge fan and wouldn't hesitate to gift or get another!

I absolutely love this system. I currently have 11 plants connected to it but it can handle more. Many of my plants will be moving to our outside garden once the weather warms up. However, I’ve been tweaking my set up in preparation for any trips we decide to take. A self-sustaining system is ideal for when we go away. I don’t like having to rely or impose upon others to care for my plants. The system was relatively simple to set up, although it did take quite a bit of time to do. I also found it difficult to connect the hose pieces to the connectors. (They were very tight.) My hands were hurting and I found that there wasn’t enough to grip for leverage. That said, the connections do not leak as a result. (I did try soaking the hose in warm water, as instructed, but I didn’t see much difference afterwards.) My plants seem to be happy so I feel like the system is working well. (It’s been nearly 2 weeks since I set it up.) Aside from the big bucket I’m using, the system is relatively inconspicuous. I have it set to go on every morning at 6:30am and it hasn’t failed yet.
