This is a good deal! The device is a bit smaller than the previous ones we used. However, it works well and can provide consistent measurement.

Good:1. Uses AAA batteries instead of silly expensive LR44s or 9v.2. Slightly better built than meters which are slightly cheaper.3. Display backlight (stays on about 10 seconds)4. Lead wires are soft flexible material (and only 2 feet long, which I prefer).Less good:1. The continuity checker doesn't give an instant response. It varies, sometimes taking a full second. That might not sound long to someone who doesn't use it a lot, but it is annoying if you are trying to determine which of 8 wires is connected to something.2. No auto-off.No deal-breakers there, and the good points do put it ahead of the cheapest alternatives. If you don't need the continuity beeper, you would probably think of it as a 5-star meter when it's on sale.

Good cheap multimeter. Only complaints, 1 audioble continuity takes a second its not instant (but you can use diode or ohmmeter to test continuity), and 2 the backlight only stays lit for a few seconds.
