I needed a replacement for my orbit brand timer because its display burst into black ink nothingness. So i cannot set it, even though it will still run its previously set schedule. This thing is basically equivalent to orbit's dual hose timers, works the same way and just as nicely. I would recommend buying this

I use a lot of soaker hoses and drip irrigation for my garden. I depend on a number of timers to make the system work. This unit has improvements around many of the other timers I have used. The battery compartment (pictured) is waterproof and a nice upgrade to others, as this is one of the weak spots on these. The timer was very easy to set, you do not even need the instructions to figure out how to set it. It is very intuitive to set. I like the 2-zone setup on this because I can setup one with the soaker hose and another with the drip irrigation. I will need to follow-up in a number of month on the durability of the unit, but everything looks good so far.

Decided to get this water timer because I typically go with orbit and those tend to fail /crack after 1 year and leak a lot. What I like so far about this water timer is that the edges and corner of it is solid plastic, nothing like its competitors that have small rubbers on the side. The material feels sturdy and the timer itself is not too bulky, is a little bigger than my hand. It does come with 2 water outlet, and each zone can be programmed with separate timers or intervals of watering (example like every 12hrs, or every 1 day or 2 days, etc..) and has a start time as well for each zone.It does come with 2 connectors if you have one of those small tubbing irrigations system, so you can connect right on it (I didn't use them and didn't find much about it on the instructions either). The display - it has a very nice/wide and clear lcd display. The value for the money, is okay, it is as much as the competitors, perhaps a bit more pricier seems like.A couple of things I didn't like: I didn't like function dials, even so it functions well and works really well currently, they easy move /change position if you rub it the dial on accident . I was setting up the hoses and accidentally kept rubbing and the dial would end up on OFF mode from Auto mode. The second thing I didn't like was that the lcd screen times out very quickly/ or at least does not stay on (I couldn't find an option to keep it on / no sleep mode). I can see that is a good feature to conserve battery, but I like to have the lcd on all the time to show the clock time and how far before the next water schedule starts, but in general it was really easy and quick to program it.

I got this timer to replace another timer that failed on me. I like that I can set up two hoses, one for the front of the house the other for the back. The seal around the battery compartment is good and no moisture has gotten in the battery compartment. It is intuitive to set up your schedule for each hose. The display is easy to read. I like that I can easily turn it off and manually use my hoses as needed as well. Very happy with this hose timer.
