The last time I did a cross stitch I was about 7 and I gave up LOL! This was very easy to complete, though very time consuming! Re-check your stitches constantly to make sure you aren't off too much. This is pretty forgiving but still take your time. Also, complete the largest areas of color first, then fill in the detail. Check your color guide as some numbers are very close to others. That being said if you mess up with one of the colors it wouldn't be the end of the world.

This is very cute, however it’s meant to be a wall hanging and is kind of sticky. I had the intention of putting on borders and using it as a baby blanket and was unable to do so.

I'm glad I started this early - it is taking me a long time to stitch! It's 12 x 12, and the many individual letters means lots of stopping and starting. The colors are not as "neon" as the photo on Amazon shows - they are bright and cheery, but more "primary" in color than neon.I'm about halfway through and I'm running low on several colors. Luckily, I happen to have those colors in DMC floss and they match exactly, so no big deal.I've been searching for a frame with a mat that would fit, but 12x12 openings are hard to find. So I'm thinking I'll have to get this custom framed; quite a large added expense.Great, fun project, but give yourself a few months to finish if you only have an hour or so a night to work on it, like me :)

Haven't actually gotten all the stitching done on this yet, but it's very cute and everything is there for me except the time to complete it!! Love the design and that the Abc's are in order but just sort of offset around the border to keep it fun for a baby room

This is a super cute, gender neutral birth record. I consider myself an experienced cross-stitcher--this kit is very easy, and you can get started immediately. I LOVE that the floss is presorted (my first kit ever where I don't have to squint and count and sort thread colors), and the chart is extremely easy to read. I always start cross stitch in the upper left hand corner, and I am about 1/4 of the way through with about 1 week of an hour or so of stitching per night.My one and only complaint, as a matter of personal preference, the font for the personalization is a bit plain, so I may look for some more fancy font for the info to fill in.
