This is my second Dimensions stocking that I have fully completed, and I am thrilled with it. I have been cross stitching off and on for over 20 years, and it will be hard to go back to regular patterns. I love all the thread blends, the half stitches, the more than 2 thread stitches, fun knots, all combined with the negative space; these are the things that give the stocking so much depth. I’ve read where some people completed the half stitches and filled in the negative space, and for those considering doing it, I advise not to do it. Trust the pattern and remember that these stockings are meant to be viewed from a little distance.I am not a sewer and so I asked my SiL to help me complete the stocking, help that I appreciate so much. After all the hours spent cross stitching, I did not want it put together poorly. I would recommend finding an expert or paying for someone to finish your stocking if you haven't sewn much. We still need to add a hanging loop.As for difficulty, I always say that if you can sew an X, you can do this! It’s a very relaxing hobby and so fun to be able to make something beautiful, even if you aren’t artistic. I think the pattern is easy to read.Another thing, I hate the Dimensions thread, it knots so easily and I’ve read other reviews where the red bleeds. I substituted all DMC floss, and I finished this one much faster than my previous stocking. Of course you can still use the Dimensions floss, but it’s something to think about.

The Detail is very comples and there is a lot of it. I understand everyone is tryingto maximie profits but the instructions are all on one page. Really could have been on two or three. The constant folding and unfolding the paper is heavier but, again, saving money to put it all on one page is cheap! The light greens are hard to see. the detail is hard to read. I expect more from Dimenisions. It is not impossible just annoying.

I liked the care given to the varying plies of threads giving the snow 'dimensions'. I didn't like that it wasn't DMC threads as I have a complete sorting system for DMC #'s. They gave a thread organizer which means I have hanging threads around my chair. I normally would really bother me, but it has been a year since my normal small groups have been able to be hosted in our home, so it's not quite the annoyance it would be. I have added glitter threads and will be adding beads for the berries, baubles, lights, etc.

I followed the cross stitching directions pretty much exactly. I used different backing, put in a liner, and attached cording to the outside of the sock so those were extra materials not included in the kit. I have made a lot of socks over the years. I had an issue with this one for some reason I made a lot of mistakes and had to rip out and redo more than normal, but maybe my eye sight is going lol. I can't really say why this sock was harder for me than others I have done, but it turned out great and that's all that matters :)

This is my 10th Christmas stocking and the ONLY one where the pattern is on one sheet of paper...the pattern is usually split into 3rds (3 separate sheets) which makes the symbols and counting so very much easier..also when in 3rds, by the time I finish one of the sections the sheet is a little/lot mussed/tattered...but early days yet into this pattern I'm already beginning to see slit tear at the fold of the pattern...most of my stocking have been dimensions brand...I love them...but not this one...I have two more to do when finished with this one and am now reluctant to buy another dimensions one unless it's a repeat of one I've done....

Almost done with this, about 18 months after I bought it I think. Pattern is great, materials are mostly great. Took off one star because the felt that is meant for the backing is pretty cheap, and for felt that is really saying something. But this is a great kit, and it won't be too much of a bother to pick out a different fabric for the backing. The floss colors are all correct and there's more than enough of every color. Excited for Christmas to come around again so it can be put to use!Note: Some of the other reviews I have just read for this item might be confusing/misleading, so I thought I had better mention specifically that the item I ordered and reviewed was the deep blue stocking with a small neighborhood scene in the snow, depicted with images such as a horse and sleigh, a lit christmas tree, and a small child with a sled. Very pretty and classic.

It's beautiful when finished, but as others have said - it's hard. I purchased this the beginning of November, yes - late!, and was able to give it to my new daughter-in-law the day they came back from their honeymoon - December 28th. There were some 17 hour days, nights until 2:00 a.m., but it was well worth it. I did have to contact the company for thread. They were very prompt in sending what I needed. I also purchased satin to line it and dark blue velvet for the backing. It's beautiful.

It's a fantastic cross stitch kit! I really love the way that all details are made. Such a good quality and true colors! The only thing I was confused is the size of charts. I have no problems with the vision but it's still hard to distinguish color signs, so I have to buy a magnifying glass to feel comfort.Nevertheless, I rate the kit with 5 stars and I'm not disappointed)
