Excelente placa, a buen precio, la compré para aplanar mis piedras y funciona de maravilla, rápidamente quedan perfctamente planas, no la he usado en cuchillos pero seguramente tendrá el mismo rendimiento

I bought this stone to use at work when I need a quick sharpening. I normally use a different brand but I wanted to avoid taking those and leaving them at work. This stone works and lasts just fine, but when you're done with it, it needs to be ONE HUNDRED percent dry or it will absolutely rust within hours. I'm not sure what the difference is, because I've been in the middle of sharpening with my Atoma's and had to leave and they didn't rust. So as long as you maintain it well or just don't care about it rusting, its an amazing stone for the price.

This is my go to for sharpening large kitchen knives. Having separate thin plates that are fixed to the frame seems to have avoided the issue of grit contamination on the fine side, and makes it much lighter than a thick plate, and much less expensive. I also have the Sharpal 8" dual sided plate which functions similar to this, but is 4x the price, and 2" shorter. If you are trying to sharpen a 10" chef knife the extra length of this DMD is helpful. I have been happy with the grit consistency and have used this now for a few years and about 30 knife sharpenings. After the initial decline in aggressiveness, which seems to always happen with diamond plates, this has stayed consistent.

Useless really. Not much good for anything. The diamond grit pattern in it makes it hard to sharpen knives.

While this is sold as a way to flatten oil and water stones, it works great as a coarse sharpening stone for woodworking. My grinder rest isn't the best and I was spending a ton of time and wasting money trying to use very coarse sandpaper to flatten the bevel accurately. This diamond plate has flattened many chisels and plane irons in short time I've used it. It's worked great with a honing jig and given me a quick way to correct issues with my grinding so I can move on to finer diamond plates. If you read reviews of coarse diamond plates, many tend to lose diamonds out of the matrix, but despite using this stone on hard steel tool, it's kept its effectiveness through heavy use. I highly recommend these plates!

I used it only once to flatten waterstones. Worked really well. Im not able to judge the "value for money" and "durability" at this time.

I used this to flatten the back of an extremely hard old draw knife. It did the job well but I expect the true cutting grit would not last many such tools. It was great value for just this one heirloom tool. They knew how to make them in great grand dads day.It was the rust accumulated during the stewardship of two generations previous to my turn (and pitting) that need to be removed. In normal circumstances I expect this would represent years of use.A good product its not a fine sharpening tool, you need finer grades as well. And expect it to wear if you put it to extreme tasks nothing and no one lasts forever. In reality once the edge is remove from the diamonds it just becomes a finer grit.

These stones are a great value for the money. The aluminum extrusion they're mounted to is acceptably flat. The diamond application is fairly even, and has been holding up fairly well so far.The 150/400 grit combo is great for flattening natural or bonded abrasive stones, or doing rough to intermediate re-profiling of a blade. The surface area is large enough to use for flattening most stones. The only negative I can think of is the pattern they have picked on the 150 side. If you're using it for reprofiling a knife you have to be aware not to draw the edge across the stone at the same angle as the grooves or the edge drops down into the slot.I would definitely consider trying out more of their stones if they made some higher grit combo's as well like a 1000/3-4000.

I have tried several diamond stone sharpening products in the past but they left me unsatisfied due to either a limited ability to do knives of all sizes, or hassle to assemble. This stone leaves them all in the dust for sharpening dull knives (I say dull and not chipped because the 400 isn't course enough to remove metal fast enough). Its size can handle any sized edge you can throw on it. I am astonished by the quality of this for ~$22 and can't imagine the expensive versions of this are worth the outrageous prices. I've used this to sharpen pocket knives, non-serrated kitchen knives, chisels and scissors. All with great results.A few tips I've learned to make this super easy to use and maintain:-if you've never sharpened by hand, don't expect good results immediately and practice with cheap or old knives first because you will make them ugly. It takes time for your fingers and arms to create muscle memory to maintain a consistent sharpening angle. Also keep in mind that higher quality steels will achieve and maintain sharper edges than the cheap metal in knives from the dollar store.-get a base to elevate the stone off the worktable. Better yet, spend a few more bucks and get a sink bridge to rinse away debris as you work and making cleaning easy.-clean with soap, hot water, and soft bristled brush. dry with a towel, and then let it dry completely, standing upright.-After a using, rust may develop on the surface, especially the courser 400 grit side. You can easily remove rust spots with some barkeeper's friend powder and a soft brush, I use an old toothbrush.-strop blades with leather and compound after. The stone puts a very fine edge on a blade, but stropping is what brings the edge to life, making it shaving sharp. If you aren't stropping your blades, I can guarantee you will be unhappy with any product you purchase.I wish this company made even this stone with courser and ultra fine grits...I'd buy them in an instant. You won't regret this purchase.
