I ordered this for my husband as he'd been asking for one. Turns out his one works better and has more available features that some higher priced, name brand devices.

Was looking forward to using a more accurate and technically sensitive stud finder, but found this unit was less reliable and more inaccurate than a much older unit I had been using all along. VERY disappointed !!

The unit works well and it is simple to use. It arrived well packaged with no damage.Pros:- Works but can take a moment to adjust to it comparing to a plain stud finder.- Felt pads on the back help the unit slide freely without damaging wall.- 9V battery is included.- Buzzer is mild and will not wake up the kids or the neighbors like some other units.Cons:- Still uses a 9V battery. With the existence of cheap booster circuits there is no need to have anything more than two or three AAs.- The display is good but requires the backlight to run the whole time in order for anything to be visible. Using a simple gray LCD with the option to turn the light onoff would reduce unnecessary power draw which is troublesome being 9V batteries are pricey.

This is a great stud finder. It does the job without being hard on the pocket. It's easy to use and tells me exactly where the center of my studs are. It even comes with the batteries. What more could you ask for.

I do maintenance for a living I'm a maintenance supervisor in an apartment complex and I use one of these quite often not just for finding studs but for finding power lines and for finding pipe behind the wall and I pay a lot of money in the store for one that barely works I mean it it works but it's not exactly accurate and when you pay $85 Plus for one of these you expect it to be perfect but I have to say that this item blew away my expensive one and it's a fraction of the price the fit and finish on it's excellent the functionality of it's very simple and easy and it's smooth across the wall it doesn't drag it doesn't grip it slides nicely as you're dragging it I highly recommend this above what Home Depot is offering for sure don't hesitate to pull the trigger on this if you need one this is a good option
