At first glance this item looks correct but closer inspection shows two show-stopper issues.Issue #1: The metal part has rough edges with a burr in the areas where the thread will pass. The last thing we want is to abrade the bobbin thread as it leaves the bobbin.Issue #2: The tension adjust is non-functional. It's easy to set and forget bobbin tension right up until the machine isn't stitching correctly. But just doing a hand test it was clear that the tension was *way* too high. The way these cases are supposed to work is one screw (the right hand one looking at the screw heads) basically holds things together and the other screw (the left hand one) will bring the two metal pieces closer or further apart. One of the metal pieces is a spring that works with the screw for getting the tension set. That's how they are supposed to work. In the case of this particular unit, the adjustment did absolutely nothing. You should be able to see the two pieces come together/apart as you turn the screw and you don't on this unit. The result is the thread tension remains way to high even after trying to adjust it.

I have a 20+ year old singer that started having issues with tension. The bobbin cade wasn't keeping tension, even fully tightened. This replacement fit the machine perfectly and solved my tension issue! Now my corners are perfectly clean when I pivot.
