Ordered this product to replace our original awning motor, which lasted over 10 years. This motor worked well for approximately eight months, then suddenly stopped working. After removing it to try and determine what the cause was, it was discovered that it was completely stripped out. Being less than one year old, along with the fact that it was not excessively used, is unacceptable. After contacting DOMETIC, we were told it was covered under a one-year warranty and to take it to a local authorized dealer to evaluate, which we did and was told that DOMETIC would require us sending it back to them for an additional evaluation for at least 4-6 weeks, and from their previous experience doing so with other customers, it would be highly unlikely for us to receive any compensation. DOMETIC‘s customer service could have easily taken care of this with a simple photograph showing the motor was clearly stripped, however, we were simply given the runaround instead. For the price of this motor it definitely should have lasted more than a year. Highly dissatisfied and would not recommend this product or any DOMETIC product for that matter.

Don't make the mistake I made I tried a cheaper priced product and ended up doing the job twice. Lesson learned stick with the factory original replacement parts direct fit easy install workd perfectly great value and a high quality product.

Item arrived at time at the designated delivery spot. Packaging contained a small dent however, there was no damage to the item. Ideally, this is a 2 person install. It took less than an hour to make the change out.Hope I don't have to but I'd purchase again.

This awning motor works well. Unfortunately, changing it out didn't fix the issue which ended up being the controller. But the motor works well.

This is a perfect replacement for the motor that quit.I have dealt with a awning motor in the past, and it was tightly wound with a spring. Not knowing much about this at the time, I thought this awning also had a spring-loaded mechanism.It doesn’t.I did have to remove a couple of rivets and a couple of bolts, thanks for the video on YouTube, but the installation was much easier than I thought. The biggest problem is being up on a ladder.If your awning is broken, and you use this type of motor, and have a rivet gun and some basic tools… You can do this yourself.
