I use these in all my restoration projects. Smooth control without the slop of the cheaper imitation's which yes, I tried once and returned. As with everything else, they're starting to get expensive, but still worth it for the performance and longevity you will get.

It is much sturdier than the original cable & fit perfectly on my 1999 Johnson 150hp outboard.
