This thing works great. It does in fact slice through wood like butter. Based on other reviews, I see the directions could be a little better. If your chainsaw works, but isn't cutting through the limb and just makes the limb smoke, your chain is on in the wrong direction. If your chainsaw won't start, make sure the brake is not engaged. Yes there is a brake. Very happy with this chainsaw. Planning to buy another one for a family member.

Unfortunatly the chain saw did not work. Batteries indicated fully charged. However when I pressed the trigger to start nothing happened. I did look at several utube videos before my purchase and the individuals were very happy with the product. Luck ofthe draw?

I love my forty volt chainsaw. My 1982 model Craftsman started getting hard to start so, I decided to get a backup. Really glad that I picked this powerful and always ready chainsaw. For dropping big trees or just cutting up the logs this bad boy is always ready. Also, the batteries last quit awhile and recharge kind of quickly. I know it's always ready and I don't have to put gas in it. Batteries have a fuel level indicator.Get one you'll like it.

This is a great chainsaw. No hassle very powerful and not heavy at all. Chain runs very fast and cuts quckly.

I was looking for a Dewalt saw and ran into this brand. I had a few Worxs and greenworks saws. The greenworks were bad the works were ok. After considering the cost of batteries this saw is cheaper and so much better. Standard chain that holds tension. The saw feel good in the hand for me, much more torque than my 40 and 80v Greenworks. Thinking about getting another chainsaw just to have the extra batteries. When the batteries get low the torque drops off. The batteries tend to be a bit hot to charge but they cool and start charging with out me doing anything. I know its silly but I like the oil cap. Its the easiest cap that I have ever had to deal with. I have had a lot of Chinese gas saws, some ok most don't last long. This has about as much torque as my husqvarna 240. I would say you would need 5 sets of batteries to make it through a day with recharging. I had low expectations for a brand I never heard of, after this I bought Dongchang 1 handed reciprocating saw and liked it. I read somewhere they use the same batter as DCK I haven't tried them.

I used it fresh out the box. It cut pretty good until the batteries ran down. So far I like it better than gas. Perfect for home cutting.

This chainsaw works great. A real bargain for the money. I've cut down many trees with my trusty gasoline Echo chain saw. But it has been sitting unused for over five years and I couldn't get it to start due to a shoulder injury and bad gas.I looked at battery operated chain saws and found this one. 16" bar (actual measurement from heel to tip) for about half the price for anything similar. The reviews looked good so I took the chance. I was not disappointed. We had a dead tree about two feet in diameter at the base we needed to remove. The trunk split to two main branches about six feet off the ground. these were about 15 inches across. Started with those and this took them down, no problem. Started at the top of the main trunk and cut straight down from the crotch about two feet, then horizontally cut each side. The last three cuts, I had to work my way around the tree with a circular cut.Advisably, with continuous cutting the batteries were getting hot and the saw quit when the batteries were about half power. I imagine this is a safety feature to prevent the batteries from over heating. After letting the batteries cool down, I finished the last cuts. I would recommend this saw to anyone who needs a good saw occasionally.

UPDATE:Within 24-hours of this review going live the seller reached out and offered a full refund. We discussed some other options and agreed to replacement batteries because I think the chainsaw unit is great. This seller is one of the few on here that offer fantastic customer service and I am very happy with what I now have.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Whilst the saw is great (quiet, decent torque, easy to use), the battery life is pretty poor. I was only able to cut four 4inch logs (less than 10 mins) before the batteries were drained.I thought about buying spare batteries but the cost is ridiculous compared to the cost of the chainsaw.
