A 1/2” threaded neck would have been preferred on it but it works with a mounting base to screw down. Power is not an issue right now it is not “humming” but time will tell. As far as versatility with mounting base can be screwed down anywhere with reason. I have had no problems with temperature since it’s only powering a ring doorbell and only 40 kva. I can not speak on durability yet since I just mounted it in a pole barn on a electrical junction box. Quality seems okay nothing of poor craftsmanship or design stands out for the price I have no real complaints on this product.

Like most reviews, my smart doorbell stopped working and once I replaced it with a new transformer everything worked. Easy to install and quick shipping.

20 minutes after installing the transformer, reset button on GFCI plug popped up and not able to reset. Ring door bell also stopped working. Finally got a new transformer from Home Depot and all issues are nowfixed. Don't know if transformer is defective or not compatible. I am now just late by 2 days and my return window is closed.

I'm editing my review from 1 to 3 stars for that alone. I'll buy a new transformer and try again!First review: Bought it to upgrade from an old transformer so that my Ring would work. Finally got around to installing and it initially put out the correct amount of power, then quickly bled down to less than 6 volts. Unfortunately it's well past the return window so I have to chuck it in the trash. And as others have said, it's large, so I would really have to wedge it back into the wall.

Nice price compared to the OEM, easy enough to install. It is bulky however, and barely fit in the 2-gang junction box with the incoming wiring.

This is a 120v transformer. In the UK it's 230v.So it will not work as described.
