On certain Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram SUVs and trucks, routine transmission services are a messy process due to the design of the original equipment transmission pan, which must be lowered carefully to avoid spilling the fluid it holds. This Dorman OE FIX transmission pan is designed with a drain plug to make draining the fluid a less precarious prospect. Our rugged, precision-engineered replacement pan includes a new drain plug and crush washer to ensure a predictable and straightforward initial installation. Replacing the factory pan with this innovative solution encourages regular service to help prevent costly transmission repair, and can help protect the transmission from harmful contaminants and fluid leaks. Best of all? Future service is a lot less messy. This part is compatible with the following vehicles. Before purchasing, enter your vehicle trim in the garage tool to confirm fitment. Bought this because the original pan was leaking and no matter how good I sealed it (tried twice), it still leaked. Could not tell if it was warped or the pan was porous. This replacement after fitting for the first time solved the problem. No more leaks and dry as can be.

Fits 2003 Jeep Liberty 3.7L Limited with 45RFE transmission. Paired this with a LubeLocker gasket - perfect fit! This pan has a drain hole at the bottom. The magnet is built into the drain plug, therefore, future transmission servicing will no longer be as tedious.

Good quality and fit. Tired of not having a drain plug in your transmission pan, then this is definitely for you. Make maintaining your transmission much easier and cleaner. No more dumping your trans fluid all over the place. Remove the "magnetic " drain plug to drain the fluid. Easy enough. Super addition to my Dodge Ram.

Despite Amazon telling me that this does not fit my truck, my research and experience say otherwise. The 545RFE and 65RFE transmissions are externally identical.I put some RTV on the drain plug threads and torqued it to 25ft pounds. There is a raging debate online over gasket vs sealant. My truck had sealant applied at the factory, so I went with sealant.I used Permatex Right Stuff 90 minute gasket maker and followed the Permatex instructions - hand tighten the fasteners and wait 30 minutes and then torque to 105 inch pounds in a criss cross pattern. If you use a gasket, tighten to only 80 inch pounds.Be sure all mating surfaces are clean and free from ATF.Worked like a charm.

Exactly what I was looking for. As per reviews, I added a little bit of "the right stuff" to the drain plug before installing. Also added a second magnet from my factory pan. Looks and fit great. No leaks.

I read all the reviews before buying this oil pan, the drain plug is the most beautiful part (why don't auto makers include a drain šŸ¤”šŸ¤£, it's oil and if not changed metal fragments run around and cause transmission failures, they have to keep their mechanics beaks wet at the dealerships with your money changing transmissions, that's why) I'm up to date on my service now, good for another 30,000 miles as recommended by Dodge (if I remember correctly) I put a little gasket silicone on the bolt threads because of some reviews saying that the crush washer alone wasn't working all that well, I'm feeling really good about this pan, fit exactly as it should and I changed both filters in the transmission while the pan was off (the round filter is a return filter, the flat filter is the pick up filter) all good, nice upgrade on my 2004 Dodge Ram HEMI 5.7 Quad cab 4x4 šŸ”„šŸ’–šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ’Æ

Fit perfectly and now I will be able to drain and fill the transmission without opening the pan.

After making a huge mess every-time I had to change the transmission fluid on my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi.I thought, there must be a better way. My Chevy just has a drain plug on the transmission. So I got this pan with integrated magnetic drain plug.Took the old transmission pan off with a 2ft x 4ft drain pan underneath - and still made a little mess.I installed the new pan with a new cork gaskets and silicon gasket sealer. Let that stuff dry for 24 hours. Then I started adding transmission fluid and after 4 quarts I saw it starting to drip. But thankfully not from the gasket to the transmission, but from the plug- I've opend the plug a little and re-tighten it - but it still leaked between the copper gasket and the pan. Then I read here an Amazon in the comments - to use black RTV on the threads of the drain plug screw. So I unscrewed the screw about 3-4 turns - pushed a little RTV in the gap and tightened the screw. The dripping of transmission fluid stopped.Filled then the transmission to it's normal level - drove it a few times - rechecked the level and everything fine. Now weeks later it still is bone dry.So when you install this pan - do yourself a favor and just remove the screw - add a little of RTV to the copper-gasket and the screw and before you put it on the truck. Cheap insurance. Or replace the gasket with something softer.

Was happy with the quality and fitment. Love the idea of the installed drain plug. After reading other reviews about possible drain plug leakage I Teflon taped threads prior to installation. To my surprise it still had a very slow drip. Thinking maybe I should have tried another thread sealant. If you by this item pay special attention to drain plug before you add your oil.

Used on my 08' 68RFE, This pan is stock size, excellent quality and includes a drain plug to make regular service cleaner. I swapped to this one when I did my first trans service, I just drilled a drain hole in the stock pan and replaced the entire pan with this one. This pan is all you need.I do recommend you use a little RTV on the drain plug threads to prevent leaks. I do this on all plugs that don't get pulled often regardless. I read about the plug leaking. Mine came with a copper sealing washer that should do the trick, but I still used RTV.Despite what all the marketing wants you to believe, you DO NOT NEED A BIGGER TRANS PAN. If your trans is making too much heat then adding a bigger pan that holds a few more quarts is not going to help you with anything, and no the trans and won't help you "cool" the fluid more again marketing BS. You need to fix why the trans is making too much heat. The bigger pans simply cost you more money in fluid, Hang down lower risking damage and cost an arm and a leg.

So far, so good. Tranny pan came new with a nice finish and magnetic drain plug. The 265-817 pan is for a 4x4 5/45rfe automatic transmission. This pan is slightly thinner than the OEM pan (or feels like it). I was a bit concerned that the plug is on the bottom but my transmission is tucked up a bit and would not be the first thing to be hit so it looks okay.Even after suctioning all the tranny fluid via fill tube, there was still a fair amount of fluid in the pan. At first, I though that my vacuum pump was all that was needed but I'm glad I bought and installed this. This pan along with vacuuming out the fluid should make a mess free, oil changing experience going forward. The vacuum pump was purchased on ebay, it is for servicing hvac pumps/systems if anyone is wondering. It is a little pricey but has a multitude of uses from suctioning oil to bleeding brakes.
