Granted, the tail gate cables are not a major issue, but having one broken and hanging there is annoying. I recently bought the '96 F-150 and it needs a plethora of small and some not so small repairs and replacements. The headlights were not minor insofar as labor goes, but the tail gate cable was super easy. It is the exact length and appearance as the original. Every appearance of brand new factory.

Easy install to replace my rusty/frayed tailgate cables. They are a little stiff at first and may want to come out between the bed and tailgate when closed, but they seem to relax in time.

I did not need two pieces hardware sent with it. Instructions said that is usually the case. This was put on a 1990 Ford F150 and works perfectly. All I needed was a socket wrench

Would have given four stars if the cable was shaped like the original. The end that hook's on the tailgate should have a bend/jog in it so it doesn't catch on the edge of the sheet metal. Had to shim it out with washers to get some clearance. It was either that or trim the metal edge a little bit. It works now, but was supposed to be a direct replacement for on my 1985 Ford F150. Shouldn't have to make a modification so they will work right.

I bought a pair of these for my 1994 ford f150. Perfect and fast fit, no tools necessary and I saved money compared to the brick and mortar stores. Me and some of my buddies had a tailgate party before entering the stadium to watch the football game and some chicks dancing on the tailgate! That right there was getting my money back!

I ordered this cable to replace a broken and rusted tailgate cable on my '95 F-150. This cable fit perfect and was very easy to install, only needed to remove one bolt. Cable is well made and the length was just right. Seems just slightly shorter (by only a couple of mm) then the original cable I still have on the other side of the tailgate, but I think that's due to the fact that the original cable has stretched over the years. I should have replaced both cables to begin with so I will probably just order another one so they both match. Overall good quality and I would recommend it if you need to replace your tailgate cables.
