Good value, only $5 per side at the time of purchase. One of the factory retention rings broke last time I replaced my headlights, so I bought both sides for this time. When I removed my headlights this time, the other factory ring broke, so it was good that I bought 2. Worked as expected. Now my headlights are flush and tight against the housing like they should be. Super easy, great fit. Would recommend.

This headlight retaining ring fits as good as the original. I replaced my headlights on my 2005 Pontiac Grand AM GT and in doing so damaged the original retaining rings due to age (they literally just snapped off as I twisted the light off the headlight assembly). The replacement Dorman 42420 Headlamp Bulb Retainer fit like a glove and was easy to install. I highly recommend these rings.

This product worked on my 87 fox body Mustang with the aftermarket one piece headlamps. Even though it’s intended for a gmc. It worked out great for my application. Ps it won’t work on the stock Ford 3 piece headlamp system.

I bought 2 and they worked fine on both of my car headlights (Pontiac Grand Am); the problem here is that each one came packaged with a second retainer for a completely different headlight, or car. I don't see the logic here, and so I removed 2 stars. It was still cheaper than purchasing the part alone at my local car parts store, so there's that.

I got these to keep the headlights in place on my Grand Am, I don't know why they were missing on both sides, I have to assume it was some dark and nefarious plot to keep light pointed the wrong way. Well, let me tell you, that is all behind me now as my lights shine in front of me as they were meant to do. I haven't had any trouble with them, and they hold the lights quite firmly in place, I don't know if the same dark forces have tried to disrupt the aim of my lights, as there is no evidence of this, but as we know, a lack of evidence is not evidence of a lack (to paraphrase), so I must think these Dorman headlamp retainers have once more foiled the forces of darkness, and at a very reasonable price.
