Installed easily, but I had to get the toe adjusted because steering wheel was not centered after installation. I made sure the steering wheel was tied from turning while the steering shaft was out of vehicle.

To tighten any auto part involving ball joint through pinch bolt, it is always preferred if not necessary to replace the old bolt through new one. Unfortunately this vendor does not include the two bolts with the shaft together.

Since the part has only been on the cars for a few months I cant give it 5 stars since I dont know if it IS good or if it just looks good but it seems to be well made, installation was a breeze and it works properly. Time will tell if the quality is there but I'm optimistic.Note - When removing the old one you may find that the old shaft will no longer telescope. Just take out the one bolt holding on the rack (drivers side) and loosen the one on the passenger side a bit so you can push the drivers side of the rack away from the steering column. This will give you the room you need to remove it.

This steering shaft looks like a quality made part. It actually looks to be more durably constructed than the oem GM part - and it's less expensive! This steering shaft finally eliminated the steering clunk that had plagued my car ever since it was new. I had the steering shaft lubricated and even replaced under warranty (more than 10-years ago!) but the clunk always returned. GM redesigned the steering shaft in 2009 I believe but my car was 5-years old at that point and well out of warranty.I installed this shaft a few months ago and the steering clunk has not returned. This part also made my steering feel much smoother and a bit tighter than before. All in all I'm very happy with this part.

Mine was for our 2004 Malibu Maxx. It works great, removing the "clunk" from the steering action completely.

Had to return the first part shipped since the first one was defective, but was shipped a new part and everything works fine. Much cheaper than the autoparts stores.

Great price on the OEM updated part that does fit correctly on a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu Lt 2.2L This car has electronic power steering.Listed on Amazon as will not fit (already contacted them/ update pending)..If you have the typical GM clunk- clunk popping sound when you turn the steering wheel then this is the new and updated part form Dorman..You can hear the sound as you turn the wheel. Of course please note many other suspension/steering parts can make a similar noise so make sure it coming from the shaft before you replace it. This is a very typical well documented problem on this car. GM did recall other years and 700 cars from this year but of course when We called they said not this vin Number. From the research I found Dorman made all the Original part for the car listed above and many other. It is fairly simple to install with a 11mm socket, ratchet and torque wrench Standard disclaimer applies if you lack the skills have a professional do it ..you are responsible to double check the torque specs for the car you are working on.The new bolts come with it and should be torqued.
