This typically happens when the CV axle slides past its retaining ring, and the intermediate shaft splines are ruined soon after. This Dorman OE FIX right front intermediate CV shaft eliminates the need to buy an entire differential or use salvage yard parts to repair a failed CV shaft. The OE intermediate shaft is not available as an individual part, and the only way to get a new one is to order a complete new front differential assembly or go to a salvage yard. This part is exactly what you need to service the inner passenger shaft on a Ram 1500, in my case a 2015. However be watchful of the pr!ce. It changed from 450-700 over a couple days and now sits at ~530. Incredibly annoying.

Be careful to buy a item used like new. Because this item had a bent bearing. I had to reuse an old one. But overall it did save me money.
