There’s plenty of reviews saying they needed an adapter ujoint to make this fit their truck. User error in ordering the right part. I went to a GM parts website to make sure I had the right GM part # (part is unavailable or $400+ now) and cross referenced it to this. There’s so many combinations of transfer cases, driveshafts etc on these trucks that you NEED to look up your VIN on a GM parts database to get the right part #.Or just get this and use an adapter. Though some have different spline counts as well, if you have a electronic shift case, this should fit, I think.Installed a reman transfer case in the truck and needed a new yoke as well, old one was badly worn on the bushing / seal mating surface and would have trashed the new case.

The Part was installed in a 2000 Silverado 1500 z71 4x4 model. It was a perfect match and it indeed fixed the infamous “clunk” of these chevy’s. The seal leaks… A LOT. I recommend you leave the original seal or buy another one from a parts store and the center cap of the yoke may loosen up and cause a leak. Another review mentions this and the best fix is silicone. I did this myself since Amazon will make you take the part off and ship it for a full refund which doesn’t make sense. For the 40 bucks your saving on buying it here just get it at your local autozone. The warranty is what will make this item be worth it. IT FIXES SOME PROBLEMS, but causes NEW PROBLEMS which yes only take 20-30 bucks to fix but if it’s a new part it should perform like such…

Like another reviewer I had an issue where the bearing cap holes on this were of a smaller size than my original yoke. This part was listed to fit my truck. If you run into this likely the part you need is a spicer 5-648x u-joint to make this thing work. It adapts the larger size bearing caps on one axis to the smaller size on the other. With that nonsense out of the way it seems to have eliminated the clunk and groaning noises. Truck is much quieter and pleasant now. I didn't use the seal it came with because of so many reviews saying that it leaked with that seal. I've left my original seal on the transfer case.

I've had the "famous" Silverado clunk since I bought my truck. The dealer and a transmission specialist told me that there was nothing I could do to fix it. Then I saw the yoke as a recommendation on amazon and other people said that they had the same problem until they tried this product. It took me 30 minutes to change out with my old one and the clunk is GONE!!! Thanks to dorman solutions my 05 chevy silverado drives like new! Great product!!

I was honestly surprised this worked as well as it did to eliminate most of the clunk sound my Z71 had. There is still a slight clunk in the rear end, but at 240,000 miles you'd expect that. I matched this part number from oreilly auto parts and saved about $40 buying on Amazon. Plus it comes with a new seal so you can't complain about this product

The bearing cup diameters on the new yoke were of a different diameter than the old yoke. There was no mention of any change of u-joint size. Spent over an hour at the parts store locating the correct u-joint that would match new yoke and old driveshaft. My truck matched in the application chart for this part.
