This took my husband about an hour to replace with our old one. It went in easy and his window has been working for many months now since. I forgot to leave a review. We highly recommend. There's a youtube video on how to install it which made a huge difference.

Worked fine for three weeks and the window started to jerking and stopped moving. Found out two of the self tapping screws were sheared off. First time ever having a problem with Dorman.

As written it’s a tough install do your reading and it will go smoothly. I ended up accidentally drilling out all the rivets so had the entire window mechanism out. It’s not necessary, drill out the 3 divots and it’s a decent swap. Mechanism works great no issues. This was for my 99 expedition.

Perfect fit 97 F150 drivers door. It was a little easier getting the old one out than replacing with this new one but once in it's working great. How I got it to install. It seemed like it was not aligning right and I could not get it to seat properly. So I added just one screw in left hole as looking at it, and just put a couple of turns on the screw, then did the same with the second screw in the top hole. If finally felt like it was seating correctly. I'm guessing the gears were not messing. I put the last screw in and tighten them all as it slid into place. Now the window rolls up and down with speed and ease. I was also lucky that I did not have to drill any holes as it had been done before. This took less than an hour. More time spent getting the tools and putting them back. Great product.

Go to YouTube FIRST and learn what to do. If you’re shy about drilling metal or have bad arthritis in your hands, this job is not for you. But if you’ve got good hands and don’t mind power tools on steel, this is fun. This fit my 1999 F150 perfectly. Operates just like the original. I comes with three different electrical connectors, and one was perfect for my truck. Ease of installation is based on your expectation. I knew what I had to do from some excellent YouTube videos. In this truck, you first have to remove the door trim and inside panel and moisture barrier. Then you have to remove the speaker to access the motor. If your window is stuck in the up position, you’re fine. If it’s stuck in the down position, I’m not sure if you would have enough room. Do not try to drill out the rivets unless you are changing out the entire regulator. This part is just a motor, and the rivets can stay. There are two dimples marking two of the three bolts you will have to access. You need to drill a 1/2” hole through the sheet metal at each dimple. There is a third bolt to access, with no dimple. You have to measure the holes on the new motor to decide where to drill. Once you drill you will find the three bolts (really self tapping screws with bolt heads) which you then back out. I read things about the regulator smashing your fingers, so I blocked the regulator arms with something, but there never was any recoil or anything that could smash fingers. Once the screws were backed out it was just a matter of reaching in through the speaker hole and working out the motor. I don’t think there was any particular hooking of any latch or anything, just 21 years of that motor being bolted on that made it not just fall away freely. Likewise, when I put the new one in place, there wasn’t any latch or hooking mechanism to hold it in place while I screwed it back in (motor comes with three new screws). I held it in place with my right hand through the speaker hole and started one screw with my fingers and then partially tightened. Now it could hang from that screw making it easier to partially install the second and third. Only after all three screws were started did I tighten them all down. (Also, before installing, I attached the motor end of the appropriate electrical connector, while I could still see it). Once it was hooked up and plugged in I tried it and it worked on the first try. It will sound loud with the trim all removed, but once the door was back together it was just like factory fresh. Great product and price.

Plastic housing vs the heavy duty aluminum one that Ford out in. Ford doesn’t make it super easy to replace, but it works and is good value for price. Was worried as 3 mounting holes are in slightly different orientation than the original, putting the motor in slightly different location in door, but it didn’t mater. Everything works and my win goes up and down. Hopefully this lasts a long time or I’ll revise my review....

Good, strong replacement lift motors for my 2001 Expedition. I've had 2 in for around 3 years now & just did a 3rd door with another. All have worked well with no issues and power the windows up with more ooomph than the old worn out motors. Install is pretty easy and one of the several wire harness pieces they give you is a direct replacement.Just a note on the Expy at least. The doors have 3 divots in the sheet metal that locate over the 3 bolt heads for the motor. If you drill those out to about 1/2" or so you can access the bolts with a socket. The motor swaps out easy. No need to remove the regulator / bracket or drill out the 4 rivits that hold the whole thing in the door.
