Cheap plastic doesn't grip the window crank splines well and skip splines.

Tried these out for my '86 Comanche and despite fitting, the plastic knurling was much smaller than oem so with any resistance from the window track, they free spin instead of moving the window up and down.

Teeth are much more shallow than the factory window crank. I bought this for a 1988 Jeep Comanche and it did not work at all. It snaps onto the window hardware as it should, but any resistance (the window being put up) and the teeth strip out allowing the crank to continuously spin freely.

Amazon's part checker was right (this time), this does not fit the later XJ's. Up to 1990, maybe, but not my '96. Too loose.I can push it on all the way, then promptly pull it off. A few reviews said they used this on their XJ, but it must've been an older one. Unfortunately, the part that DOES fit is more than twice the cost of this. Oh well...

The internal splines on this are too shallow so when you pop it onto the crank shaft and give it a try, they instantly strip out. I ended up using a bit of JB Weld inside the stripped out splines and popped it onto the door. After waiting for the JB Weld to cure, the handle works awesome. The only caveat on this is when I need to remove the door panel at some point in the future I will have to bust the handle apart and clean up the splines on the crank shaft. So, 2 stars for a temporary, disposable window handle, and an extra star so you actually read the review. This is on a 1990 XJ.

Mine stripped immediately on my 1987 XJ Cherokee. It looks the same, but the center isn't tight enough. Waste of money, glad I only bought one.
