Outer steel rings that oil O-rings seal against were not completely welded. Welded them myself but would not buy this again. Sometime its's just better buying OEM. Been building diesel engines for over 50 years. Dorman is a decent product but this involves your oil cooling. Just food for thought if your are not able to modify parts if need be.

Arrived as advertised. Easy to install just time consuming. I had to replace my cooler cause the o-rings went bad and the cooler was stock. No more engine leak.

Bought this about a year ago. Was skeptical after seeing reviews from all different parts but didnt want to pay dealer price for the part. I threw simple green in the coolant several times in the last year and drained it and thought it was leaking, it would have the oil scum in the coolant jar. My mechanic neighbor told me not to put coolant in for a year to get the gook out. The other day about 11 months later i drained the coolant and it was clean. I cleaned the coolant jar with dawn and shook it around a couple times. It is holding great! Would/will buy again (i have another 7.3). 5 stars!

Good price for a sturdy unit with tight fit. I've heard the gaskets will fail earlier than OEM, but only time will tell. Pain in the butt to install, easiest to pull the driver side wheel well first. PREPARE TO GET DIRTY. There are some good YT vids on installation. Remember the old one will be full of oil and coolant, so prepare for a gusher when removing. Some of the tubes were a little bent, so I bent them back to shape. For the O-rings slather them with grease or Vaseline then use a ratchet strap helped by a few light hits with a deadblow. Make sure to scrape any old gasket away and replace any bolts with deformed heads. The biggest key is patience and stay relaxed. It's a bit difficult/awkward to slide the new fully assembled unit in and line everything up to get the bolts started with gaskets, so if you're feeling frustrated that's normal. Takes a little time to get it right, so hang in there.

Worked great, easy repair. I seen several reviews saying they had to use ratchet straps to install this, but I found that as you use lots of Vaseline on the o rings it goes together pretty easy.

It’s tollerances are slightly larger than an OEM piece. Needed a press to fit the end pieces onto the cooler. Other than that it works good!

Fast shipping, great quality better then factory and cheaper with the gaskets and o rings.

Worked great on my 96 f250 that was leaking at the rear seal. Appears to be of equal/better quality than the OEM unit. This is not a flimsy repro part. The only caution I would give before tackling this job is that you are going to need a hydraulic press or other means to press the assembly together. I had read other instructions where guys said they tapped it back together with a rubber mallet. This did not work for me at all. You need a way to leverage weight during assembly while keeping the pieces aligned otherwise it will not press in. Make sure and lubricate those new o-rings during assembly. The metal block gaskets are quality components and I had no issues with them. I compared with the oem gaskets and they were identical as I was originally concerned that they might be slightly different on a aftermarket part. Overall I would recommend this as a more cost effective alternative than purchasing the oem product that costs 2x the price.
