2008 Armada was showing a code for a faulty fuel level sensor. I ordered this Dorman replacement part and spent the entire day removing the old sensor, installing the new sensor, cranking the car to discover that despite the tank being full, the fuel level sensor is now reading empty. I removed it again, checked to be sure it was not possible t install it backwards or upside down, put everything back together, connected the battery again, cranked it up, still reads empty despite being a totally full tank. Drove it around a little, as I drive some of the fuel outm the guage on the dash starts climbing very gradually as the tank empties, Perhaps this sensor is magic and it fills my tank as I drive the vehicle? Oh look! After 2 days of plating with it, it now tells me I have 1/4 tank. Reverse logic tells me that I must have used 1/4 tank, so I go to the gas station and put 5 gallons in, crank the vehicle, and it says it is empty again. Perfect, I think I have the hang of this now; When the tank reads empty and the Distance To Empty reading says I have 60 miles to go before being out of gas, that means I have a full tank. If it ever shows a full tank and 400 miles to empty then I should expect it to run out of fuel and leave me walking. What a way to waste my weekend.
