Living in costa rica and the beach weather and my dog peeing had eroded the stock cover until oil was leaking out. Just happened to see leak and knew it must be fixed. Ordered this piece and had local welding shop install. An absolute life saver for a 2005 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2 wheel drive. This piece WILL work for 2005 Tacoma. You guys saved me a lot of money and hassle here in Costa Rica and I am very very grateful. Thank you

i couldn't find anything for my 05 Tacoma . so i ordered it and it is 100% match to the what was on my truck. very very happy with the design , how thick the metal is and just the ease to install it.thank again. highly recommend

The new cover came quickly and was an exact fit. Much thicker than factory cover. Lot of grinding to get old weld off but that isn't the part's fault. Would order one again but am sure this one will outlast the truck

Purchasing a new axle would be very expensive and not worth the hassle. The next best thing, is the Dorman differential cover, which is ten times better than the original from Toyota. When you say Toyota, you think quality and long lasting, but when it comes to the first gen Tundra, Toyota didn’t do a good job with the frame where everything rusts and requires replacement.This cover fits 2004 Tundra Limited 4x4. Very durable and much thicker than the old cover. The repair ended up costing around $420. $60 for the cover + $300 to pay a shop for welding + $60 gear oil. The new cover fit great and not worrying about leaks makes this process worth it. Do not weld this yourself if you don’t have experience with welding.

I ordered this thinking it may be slightly thicker but I was surprised at how well it was constructed and fit perfect and was thick and seal area was flat. A good buy for the money!!!!!!
