I replaced this last year and have only put 3k miles on the Protege5. This part has already failed. Try a different brand.

Lasted a bit over a year on my 2000 Protege, the original one lasted 16 years. Stick to original parts only. (the car is only used for commuting 26 miles on highway daily).
