The fasteners are cheap, cheap plastic. The second image shows heavy duty fasteners, but the first image is what you actually get - and they are junk.The pad construction is decent, hence why I didn’t return it. I used my own fasteners because I was going on a trip.Would not recommend this product to a friend.

I liked the shape, the pad seems firm and functional…. But the straps aren’t long enough for my tailgate, so I can’t lock it down to my tailgate…. The weight of my SUP keeps it down obviously….. but I didn’t buy it because it was supposed to kinda work….Now in the company’s best interest I will state that I didn’t contact them with this problem because it seems trivial in the grand scheme of things… it’s not like I’m going to have it attached to my tailgate 24/7

Worked great for my kayak and surfboards for maybe ten times, then one of the plastic pieces broke when I was securing it. I have to tie the strap with a knot just to use it and it’s not as sturdy. Faded extremely fast! It looks purple/grey now. I don’t keep it on my truck all the time. I have left it on twice overnight when I was going out with my surfboard or kayak again the next day. Definitely not the quality I was expecting. I don’t think I’ve even had it for two months yet. If I was still in the return frame, I’d return it.

This covers the majority of my Toyota Tacoma's tailgate. It is exactly what I was looking for since we never go out with just one surfboard. I could also see how this would be beneficial for other things like hauling wood. I'm really glad I bought this and have used it a lot more than I had originally anticipated.

It came missing the top strap. The strap came a week later and it was easy to put on. The straps were really long but easy to cut and burn the end.
