I ordered the heavier metal but saw no difference. I ordered a double set to hold a shear and a heavier curtain yet the size difference is so insignificant that it makes opening the curtains more difficult. The best part was screws and not nails. Although pre-drilling and drilling screws makes for a more difficult installation - the screws will hold up the heavier curtains without pulling from the window frame.

The rods are easy to work with. There is just not enough space between them to fit sheers and curtains.
