It is extremely helpful to attach small size paintings to a wall, no need to drill anything.

This hook n loop is really strong. Technically it's velcro but it's like having two of the hook pieces that go together instead of the soft loop piece. The hooks are thicker & longer. Then there is a 3M adhesive backing that is coved with a film to peel off. This stuff will hold some weight too. I think the adhesive would give way before the velcro. I just wish they would have sent more in the sample pack. There is like four pieces about an inch & a half long, & about 3/4 inch width. But anyway, the stuff works well. It comes apart & goes back together to hold tightly. The only thing that would make it unusable after the initial time is the adhesive backing. It won't stick as well after peeling it off & resticking it.

This is not the same thing as velcro, so be clear on that before buying. Velcro uses harder plastic hooks that latch on to looped fiber. This is straight plastic rods that are larger at the end and identical on both pieces. When you press it together, it larger part presses below the larger part of the other piece, and that makes them stick together. The advantage of velcro is it goes together without needing to apply pressure. These go together more like legos - you have to kind of snap them together. When you pull them apart, it feels more like velcro, though. The advantage of this style is that any two pieces will always stick together - you don't have a rough piece and a fuzzy piece - they are all the same. Another advantage is, because of the way it attaches, it will hold longer when sticking something to a wall than velcro would. Velcro would fatigue when doing that because the fibers are weak, but this doesn't because the little plastic rods are all very firm. So it really just depends on what you want to do with it as to whether you want this or velcro. For what it is, this product is good and high quality.
