My wife and I both had to look closely then look at the online picture to see the hole and where it was located. The first review was correct, the hole is extremely small and I don't know how you connect it besides small wire. It is to big for the necklace. The box itself is neat but I purchased it for a specific reason which I can't use it for......... It would work great by itself but I'm returning it

The product images show two different models. You're getting the larger one with the two closable compartments on the inside. The product insert does claim that it's a NECK/BOX, but the size of this fly box is pushing it in terms of being practical for a lanyard. In my opinion, the size/weight isn't ridiculous but I had to move some stuff to the other side of the lanyard just to counter balance the weight. As for attaching it to a lanyard, there's nothing included. At a glance it almost doesn't seem possible except for two small holes near the box latch. What ended up working was attaching an Eagle Claw swivel (or two) to the fly box, then attaching a keyring to the end of the swivel.

Perfect size! We keep one in each car, along with a rod, just in case we come across a perfect stream. Buying some more for Christmas gifts.

I thought I was ordering the one for the necklace, as that is what is described, but it is huge for hanging from a necklace (fishing necklace/lanyard). I am keeping because it is a nice box. I saw the necklace at Cabelas with one of these on it. I already had that lanyard and this accessory looked perfect. Cannot find a smaller version on the web site. Do not want ot buy the whole lanyard.

I bought several of these so my husband can make up stream specific fly sets. Yes, we like to fish. These are great because they are small and easily fit in a pocket or you can attach to the necklace (if you have bought that item) and my husband likes them because they are easy to open when on the stream. Just remember that the clear panel opens up that whole section and those flies are unattached so you would want to make sure you are holding it flat at the time or you will lose flies.
