Lo-rider stainless steel bass strings are round wound and constructed on a hexagonal core. They provide more depth of tone, and are a bit stiffer than hi-beams. Bass players who are into slapping, popping and tapping will love the high end and depth of lo-rider. The slight bit of stiffness makes lo-rider bass strings very accurate when playing harmonics. Great consistency and great string-to-string balance are dry hallmarks.

I've used these on a Medium Scale (32.5" Standard Tuning) Bass and a Long Scale (34") Tuned to D-Standard. My "Motley" Bass. On both they sound excellent.

Second set of these for my bass. Takes a little bit for a break in period to what I like sound wise but good strings and stay in tune all night.

Great strings. Period. Using them on my P-Bass for my pop punk band and they give a very lively, bright, and in your face tone while being maintaining their integrity. I don't plan to stop buying these strings anytime soon.

I like em ,I put em on my fender pj ,have excellent tone and the tension is just right,since I keep my other old p strung with heavy labella flats,any way I’m getting excellent tone,running the pj into a Darkglass b7k ultra into a peavey vb2 tube head into a ampeg heritage 810e,best rock tone ive ever had,strictly fingerstyle player FYI,highly recommended

Something not right about this set.Definitely different not as tight as the DR lowriders on my other basses . Also very dead out of the box.Was unusable after about 4 hours of play. Like elastic.Replaced them with another set (same from different place) . World of a difference.Checked with a vernier and the E string was smaller than it should be.took the string apart and could clearly see the core was NOT hex.The visual wrap, ball end and finish all look like DR quality. I wonder if DR misboxed some Hi-beam 40-100s.Check them carefully before putting them on the bass.

Very 'chorusy' sounding strings. Have a huge punch, very nice high mids, and full low end.The tension is also pretty tight. Fantastic strings for long-scale necks.Only downside is the 'residue' effect these strings give off. Fresh out of the pack, they leave this dry-chalky feel on your fingers. After a good 20 hours of playing, the residue will be gone. Had the same thing happen when I used DR Longnecks taper cores.
