Purchased for a family member in a nursing/rehab facility. They have always loved to draw/sketch, and I thought this might help pass the time while they heal from a serious leg injury. I also purchased a sketch pad that fit inside the zipped case. The case and tools, as well as the pencils are all of nice quality. I was actually pretty impressed with it, for under $10!

This set comes with a black case to keep your sketching supplies in one place. It's not the best case but it's not the worst, especially for someone just starting. That way if it's not for you, there's not that much money invested. It comes with a small top spiral bound sketch pad with white, tan, & black paper included. The drawing pencils are of good quality. They come in a wide variety of hard & soft graphite pencils. The charcoal pencils are fairly decent as well. I would only use the dual hole sharpener provided along with the sander, if I was on the go. While at home I'll use my own sharpener. This set comes with everything a beginning artist would need to create a great sketch work. Not only that, but it's a good set to add to your supplies as well if you're running low. This set is a steal at the price when I received it. I did have some issues with the "hard" charcoal the very first time using it...it was scratchy in a sense. It didn't want to write on paper but I eventually got it working correctly. I would recommend this set for those just starting out learning about graphite & sketch...those who wish to add it to their collection for back up....or as a gift to that artist in your life.
