My mom just taught me how to quilt so in the process she used this ruler as a time saving tip to make triangled quilt blocks and she had this ruler on hand. I knew I needed the same one and am very pleased I could find it on Amazon as it will help me make my future blocks!

We have several of these hem rules in our soft treatment workroom. I love the see through quality when working on hems, placing trim, making bands, etc. Each of the seamstress has one to work with plus extras to keep them close at hand.

Unlike big quilting plexi ruler tools, this ruler fits in my work apron pocket and so I always have it with me. Along with my scissors, this is my most used tool and withstands a lot of wear and tear.

The thickness makes this little ruler easy to hold, and it's super clear to be able to see thru. Very handy for marking quarter inch seam lines.

I'm always on the look out for sewing and quilting rulers. I have a huge collection now of squares, and curves. A while back an instructor mentioned how handy it is to keep a small ruler at the sewing machine as you sew, to check seam allowances and such. I went right out that day and bought the ruler that she was using but, it's one of those complicated grid ones, and I really have to think when looking at it. Well, no more; this ruler is exactly what I need. I call it my sewing wand because that's exactly what it feels like to hold. It's 6 and 3/4 inch long, thick, cubed plexiglass. The markings are easy to read and understand. It was so affordable that I ordered a second so I can have one at each machine. Seriously, the best three bucks I've ever spent on sewing supplies.

It would have been excellent had the markings been clearer (i.e. darker) and had it been a little longer. The ruler was extremely thick which was very good but should have been around 9" give you the option to do bigger half square triangles and other units that require a double 1/4 seam mark.
