The lampshades are very attractive and easy to put together. The seam is very obvious and a bit lumpy though, so I don’t think I would be happy with them if they weren’t next to a wall, but for the price I paid they are great.

We gave these shades a try, because they were cheap. The price is very reasonable, and they are quite usable lamp shades. However, the "linen white" shades are not what any reasonable person would call "linen white." They appear much whiter in the photos, than they are in person. I would call them more of an "oatmeal" color, and they have lots of brown flecks which make them appear even darker. They do appear much lighter when the lamp is lit, and the photo of the lamp with this shade in the listing is true to color.They come unassembled, which is shown in the photos - but that detail is easily missed, and completely unexpected. They have a novel design, which is likely much easier to ship. However, this design means that the shades have a "Velcro" seam and little plastic clips that connect the shade material to the frame hoops. These plastic clips are visible when the lamp is on.Also, because this is Amazon, the shades are tossed into a refrigerator box along with the anvil and bowling ball you've ordered (with the obligatory piece of brown packing paper smushed into the corner), and shipped. The shade material comes rolled up in a plastic bag, with not even a box to protect it. Like any other lamp shade material, it has a plastic backing. Any "bruises" that occur during shipping or assembly result in permanent creases in the shade. These creases are not glaringly obvious to a passer-by, but they are noticeable to anyone who operates the lamp.

These camer unassembled which was unexpected, but easy enough to put together. But I can see the light bulb through them which looks stupid. I'm going to have to figure out something else which is frustrating.

The concept of these is very neat. They require assembly but are very easy to assemble. Very pretty and appear of good quality. Shipping was much quicker than originally posted.
