I just love this pen. I have used fountain pens for my whole life (i'm 73) I've got to tell you, obviously I have had a lot of them. This one is my absolute favorite. I have fancier ones, some very plain, some less elegant. This one is the perfect wool suit with a lace blouse and black comfortable shoes. It is comfortable, hardworking, goes everywhere, and works every time you pick it up. It has never leaked. It works for a long time on each refill. It is easy to change the refills. It comes with a lot of refills. It is even INEXPENSIVE. I have some very expensive ones that drive me crazy. Absolutely Beautiful, as they leave me with ink everywhere. I could not be happier with this pen. I would make great gifts too. A fountain pen is not usually a good gift as you could be handing out ink blasts that should only be gifted to an enemy. But not this one. It is a true treasure. I very highly recommend this one. Even if you have never had one, you will enjoy this one.

I liked this pen at first. I love the pink color and liked having two colors of ink. The refillable cartridge was not of interest to me, and I have never used it.I had some trouble getting the cartridge to click into place. A couple of times it stuck in the barrel but I was able to pry it out. This time it is beyond hope. I am so disappointed! As I new see how many comments there are about getting the cartridge in, I do wish I had read the negative reviews before purchasing.

I have many different fountain pens, and they run the gamut from disposable to expensive. For my priciest fountain pen I'm terrified of losing it, so I wanted a more economical fountain pen to carry with me everywhere. I love the hooded nib (I don't like to call attention to the fact that I use a fountain pen), it is perfectly weighted, a handsome pen, and the ink flow is generous. This one is perfect, and truly is my everyday pen. It's solid, well made, and the ink flows beautifully. No skipping, and it's ready to go the second you uncap it. Full marks.

I was reintroduced to fountain pens last year - purely by chance. My historic use of fountain pens was primarily for calligraphy. But now having been reintroduced to them for my ever-day writing, I am in love with (and almost obsessed with) using them.I've purchased several pens at varying price points and from multiple manufacturers. While not the most expensive I've purchased or owned, this one is the nicest to write with of all I've tried. Further - it's was a great deal - as it comes not only with quite a few of the disposable ink cartridges, but also TWO refillable ink cartridges and TWO replacement nib assemblies!

This pen is fancy, good weight, easy to hold, makes you write so gracefully! Oh so nice. Rich color, rich golden tones. My ONLY wish is for the bottom of the cap to have some sort of finished edge. The edge is just raw and could be "sharp" so I'm constantly fretting that Im going to scrape the cap down onto the top of my pen in order to begin writing and it will scrape and wear all the beautiful coating off. So the inside of the cap needs some buffer and the bottom opening needs like more of the golden rim around it or something. That would also keep it from bending flat on accident (like if you accidentally dropped it or stepped on it a lil bit) bc that sturdy golden rim would kind of reinforce the cap opening. But yeah the adapters are handy for sucking up your own preferred ink shades. The included ink cartridges fit perfectly and the one I currently have on is a blue one, no leaks, smooth operator ;) Looks expensive too.

This is a beautiful pen. I’ve been using fountain pens since I was about 12, and I have quite the collection. I’m a Sheaffer fan and have many. I bought this pen and a Hongdian 1851 because I couldn’t decide which one I wanted. They are both about the same. They write beautifully in my journal. The Hongdian has a slightly wider body, so it is more comfortable for me to write with. This one is much prettier. I haven’t had issues with the fineness of the points or the ink in my journal, but I do notice that they both write wider and less smooth on plain notebook paper. I don’t use fountain pens on plain notebook paper most of the time, so it isn’t a problem.I’ve read the other reviews and I will say that a fountain pen isn’t like a regular pen. It requires some care and skill to use them and keep them functioning properly. If you don’t know what you’re doing, a $500 handcrafted writing instrument will make as big of a mess as a $5 Zebra. They were never intended to be an "every day carry" item as they do not travel well and tend to leak with excessive motion. They should never be stored with ink in them. If they not going to be used for 48 hours or longer, they should be emptied, flushed and dried so they don't become clogged with dried ink. Also, anything mass-produced is going to have issues with quality and consistency. It’s entirely possible that the writers of negative reviews got duds.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this pen writes. I'm using Parker ink. The tip is fine (definitely not extra-fine), and the ink delivered while writing is just right. No smudging, or bleeding. This outperforms some of the more expensive pens I have. The price is low enough, and it writes well enough, that I bet most cheap ballpoint pen users will ditch their pens, and change to the more eco-friendly refillable fountain pen. There are a lot of single use pens out in our dump sites, that will never decompose.

A great value. There are many expensive pens available but for those who want to start or can not afford them, Dryden pens are an excellent choice. This model comes with a converter which is not always the case with other brands. For those who prefer cartridges the converter can be replaced with blue or black cartridges also available from Dryden. The format seems to be the standard size so other brand cartridges may fit. It is best to check with Dryden.

Had I paid more, I would have left a negative review and returned the pen, but I have to weigh my evaluation by the fact that this is a $15 fountain pen (on sale). For that price, it's hard to complain too much. This pen is well made, but of cheap materials. It has a good heft, but don't give it a beating; it's the kind of plastic that cracks easily. With a bit of care, it shouldn't be a problem. The cap snaps on tightly and posts well on the back. Time will tell how airtight it is once it's capped. It's sold as having an extra fine nib, but it writes as thick as a European medium nib and significantly thicker than a Japanese medium nib. I docked a star for unnecessary false advertising. I expect hair-thin strikes from something that bills itself as extra fine. The nib feels rigid and the feedback borders on scratchiness, even on premium paper. You would expect that from an extra fine nib, but you don't get the corresponding thin stroke, so you have all the disadvantages of an extra fine nib and none of the advantages. The ink flow is inconsistent. Even after using it for a while, the nib goes dry at random moments and you have to go back over the last few strokes, adding a bit of pressure to coax the ink out. This happens more if you didn't use the pen for a few minutes, and then becomes less frequent as you continue to use it, but it still happens. I tested it on various grades of paper and I see the same sporadic loss of ink flow. This is my biggest complaint about this pen.The converter seems to have a good capacity and it works well, though it feels flimsy when I twist the piston. The pen is slimmer than I'm used to, but it's still comfortable to hold. Some may even prefer this. If you don't look too closely at the cheap materials, it looks elegant.Would I recommend it? It's biggest flaw is the inconsistent ink flow. Otherwise, it's a decent enough low cost medium nib fountain pen (no matter what the label says). It writes better than some of its low cost competitors, especially on cheap paper, but nowhere near as well as a Pilot Metropolitan (medium or fine). So the question is: do you want a good pen or a pen that looks good? If you want a good pen, spend an extra $10 (or $5 less if the Dryden isn't on sale) and get a Pilot Metropolitan. If you're after looks more than function, this Dryden looks much nicer than the Metropolitans.Sadly, had this pen performed better, I might have tried another Dryden model, but I'm not sufficiently impressed to give Dryden a second go.
