  • Great for heavy craft projects
  • Great for both woodworkers and leathercrafters
  • Approximately 2"
  • Hardwood handle

Sharp pointed awl has a hardwood handle and a tempered 2-1/2" blade (length includes a shaft extending into the handle; exposed portion of blade measures 2"). An awl is ideal for marking patterns on leather or for pre-punching holes for stitching. The Awl works equally well on thick cowhide, moose and elk as it does on softer hides such as goat and deer.

Incredible value for a very solid, sharp, and overall well made awl. I ordered a second one just to have it in case I misplace or lose my current one. I use this this awl first to make the initial holes as it is relatively skinny and goes through the leather like a knife through butter, and then combine it with a second fatter awl to increase the hole diameter (which isnt necessary but I find it easier to stitch doing it this way).

Very nice tool. Smaller in size than I thought but that's fine.

Its ok, very small. I didnt realize that it was only about 3 inches, including the handle.

used this awl to stud my denim vest and it worked great! made it so much easier, especially around the really thick seams. super sturdy material, very easy to use & arrived quickly. love it!

Works great poking things in robotics projects (pins in a robotics rover's track). Really durable and sharp.

I mostly use this for bookbinding, and the shaft of the as I is just a little too big for the needle, so I have to be careful not to push it in all the way. Other than that, it's great. Very sharp and pretty sturdy, but not perfect. It came wrapped in tape, which was difficult to remove, but once I got that off it workwd fine.

This was by far the worst, thing I've ever received on Amazon! It was an absolute joke. A novelty, toy quality product as far as I was concerned. It came from China (wrapped in a Chinese newspaper). I was expecting something along the lines of the Stanley 69-122 model. It wasn't even a shadow of the quality. I should have realized that the price meant it was too good to be true.

It has worked fine for the first few days I owned it but I havnt even finished my hatchet holster and the needle already comes out of the wooden handle. Had to stick it back in a few times but it still does the job I guess.

I will admit that I don't have tons of experience with all sorts of different awls, so I can't do any comparisons. I did have expectations for what I wanted out of an awl though and this one has totally fit the bill.I wanted one that was smaller and comfortably fit in my hand. I wanted it to trace out patterns on leather/rawhide. I wanted it to be able to punch holes in the wet rawhide as well. And I wanted it to help me push lacing through the punched holes. All the while, I wanted a sturdy feeling awl that felt like it was quality made and would last for years. This CS Osborne 1 X Scratch Awl is perfect! It has met all my criteria and works flawlessly for me! I couldn't have asked for anything better.
