Everything looked fine but after all the shocks were replaced there is exactly a 2” lift on the from tires to the body. Rides fine, looks terrible IMO. Now I’ve had to buy a 2” lift kit for the rear coil springs and I am having a hard dangerous time trying to install them. Sucks

These have been working perfectly and are a great value. Hopefully, they will last for years to make the installation cost worthwhile, but so far so good.

Installed these to my son's recently acquired stock 2001 4WD 4Runner that still had the original shocks on it at 174K miles. Things to note:The boxes for the fronts stated; 'Replaces Monroe # 171351R' and 'Replaces Monroe # 171351L'. Not sure how the boxes for the backs were labeled as I threw them out already. I compared the lengths of the original front shocks to each DTA unit and they were the same when laying on the ground. But after installation, the front is now lifted around an inch higher than before; the rears did not seem to get the same lift (and this is still the case after 200 miles). Ease of installation: not too fun installing fronts, not fun at all removing rears due to limited access to the top bolts Not sure how these compare to name-brand after market shocks, but compared to 15 year old worn-out OEM's the difference is amazing. This old 4 Runners got new life!
