The original metal collars on my dumbbells gets loose in the middle of lifting weights and gets annoying. I bought these collars not to replace the metal collars, but to supplement it and prevent it from getting loose. These collars does its job very well. I haven't had the need to re-tighten the collars on my dumbbells for more than a couple of weeks. I love that these collars are easy to tighten and easy to remove. I won't hesitate to buy another set if needed.
