It works well for thinner straps, but not for thicker, heavier leather strap end. Easy to install and provides a secure fit for the strap.

I must have spent a couple hours trying to find a strap lock system I could use on my Yamaha APX600. The trick is to lock the strap and still be able to plug the 1/4” jack into the guitar acoustic electric connector. My favorite strap lock system is the Schaller/Fender strap lock but I quickly realized that system will block the 1/4” jack. I then looked for an adapter and came close to buying one of the “MusicNomad” solutions which look solid BUT they have not tackled the Yamaha jack(yet). So because these strap locks are so affordable I gave them a try. Boy am I glad I did! You will be too. My only question is why are these sold in sets of three? :)

TLDR: they will fit where the beer washers won't. these are great, and work even with small strap buttons and thicc strap ends. Pretty straight forward to use. I've used it on standard buttons (stocK) fender, gibson, epiphone, recording king / gretsch resonators / dobros, rivolta, heritage guitars.I used to use the standard: The beer grolsch beer rubber washers. I have dozens of them. It's funny how now string joy, fender, and other guitar related brands make these in their own color / logos.this is thing is good, and simple. spin so its biggest hole and put the button in and spin it 180 degrees, and done. I have used this with several guitars, epiphone ES dots, heritage LP, fender strats / teles, they have the tiny strap buttons (yes the ones that worn in straps will slip off) to the bigger buttons like on acoustics and dobro's . It even works with the recording king brass tricone resonator/ , and that's a heavy 10 lb beast that out honks a martin, and that getsch dobro. The beer grolsch beer rubber washers, were good but the problem is when I got those high quality leather uber straps, where the strap is thicc and the grolsch rubber washers pop off as there isn't enough room for them with the thicc strap on the electric strap buttons that are tiny. However the dunlop ones are skinny enough. It doesn't turn all the way (180 degrees) but it is enough to hold the strap while moving around. Now I don't spin my guitars or do the cool guy flip it so I can keyboard or jump on the drums / congas / grab the viola, but just play, maybe duckwalk, hop, or jump around (punk band style) but these hold. I think for the spinning stuff its best to get locking metal ones (that lock tight and you have to replace your original strap buttons), but for average play, can't beat these.

I have never had these fail on me and I've been using them on my guitars and basses for 20 years. I had metal strap locks that I thought would be far superior, however they failed and my expensive guitar fell. The friction of the metal rubbing for a few years made it so too much of the metal had worn away which then lead to a drop. These are great!!! I still have my originals!!!

Let me start by saying that I have been using these strap locks for years. I love these things. They are cheap and just as effective as the more costly options. I actually prefer these because they are quiet. I've used the metal strap locks before and the sound of the metal rubbing is really distracting.Yes it's true. These won't fit every post out there (but they do fit on all of my guitars). I did struggle to get them on my PRS SE but they still fit. The good news is you have enough money left over after buying these to buy some new posts and still have money left over.Package contains three locks, not three sets. That was disappointing because I needed two sets and now I only have one and a half sets. Actually I only have one set because one of them doesn't stay together. This is an issue I've run into with these a few times before. It's usually about 1 in 10 that's defective. That's something I can live with though because they're dirt cheap. My advice is to expect one complete set per package and be happy if all three are perfect.Summary:Though you may have about a 1:10 chance (my estimation - not official) of a defective lock, the low cost easily makes up for that. They're easy to install, quiet and just as effective as the expensive ones. And the package contains three units, not three sets. 4/5
