My son was trying to give me "a great VR experience" and it ended in a broken joystick/thumb control. His other controller did seem to have a bit of drift due to the joystick/thumb control. He told me he didn't need a new controller, just the replacement parts. I ordered this for him and he had his controller repaired and working properly in about 10 minutes. Within 30 minutes he had both controllers done. His controllers work like they are brand new.

The tools provided are exactly what you need for aflawless removal and installation work, the problem are the replacement units, both came with problems, one of them is extremely loose and the other one started failing after 1 week of use.

This is a really nice joystick replacement kit for the Quest 2 Controller. All the included tools you get are really nice quality. There were no instructions included with my kit, so I clicked on the video that is on the Amazon product page. Tried to follow it, but when I got to part for removing the ring cover, I was stuck.Luckily there are other videos on YouTube about how to disassemble the controller and changing out the joystick. I found one with more details on how to disassemble and followed that.Some tips ... (1) Allow yourself at least an hour or more to do this if you've never disassembled the controller before. (2) I suggest you take a picture of where all the screws are on the controller before you take them out. (3) There are a couple of longer screws, make sure you make a note where they go.(4) Be patient in prying the outside shell covers off. (4) Watch more than one YouTube video to get a better idea of how to disassemble.My left controller was drifting and causing me all sorts of problems in one game where I was just jumping uncontrollably all over the place. I've been using the replacement joystick for a week now and the drifting and jumping situation are gone. Really like that you get 2 replacement joysticks in the kit, so you'll have one for the next time one of the joysticks starts drifting or sticking.I would definitely recommend this kit for anyone that have a joystick problem with their Quest 2 or 3 and are out of warranty.

The tools included are great, however both replacement joysticks are drifted.I was lucky that my old joystick worked again once I placed it back.

Its not if but when analog sticks will require replacement. Its good to have these around just in case. Installation seems relatively easy and all the tools are included. The sticks themselves seem of good quality. Not looking forward to having to replace my sticks in the future, but its good to know I'll have these to repair them right away.

Joysticks take a lot of abuse and tend to get dirty, so having replacements around is always a good idea. This kit includes joysticks for Oculus 2 controllers, along with the tools you need to install them.The process for replacing joysticks is not simple, requires a good deal of manual dexterity, and takes time. The included tools have among them various prying devices and you're going to need those. The cover on an Oculus controller is held in place mainly by friction but also with a thin layer of adhesive around the inside edge of the controller. Take your time removing this, as it will work off, but if you rush you're likely to cause damage. There are some inconvenient screws and tabs involved but, with patience, you can replace the joysticks without causing damage. Be careful around the ribbon cables and their attachments; they're fragile. The caps on the joysticks just pull off, but take your time as, again, patience will help you avoid disasters. This will not affect your battery life unless a specific problem with your existing joystick is causing that problem.If you're patient, the replacement is worth it if you're having stick drift and wiggle. While many joystick problems can be solved with cleaner, sometimes they do just wear out. Given that most controllers won't wear out at the same time, you'll have a spare with what's included in this kit, which is a good thing to have on hand. I'm very happy with this kit, it comes with everything you'll need and the components work.

This is a convenient pack to have for your VR joysticks. It's not a huge set that will rebuild a joystick, but it comes with the necessary items to do quick repairs. I have a sticking thumb controller. It's not bad, but it does cause some aggravating issues in VR chat, such as moving forward slightly without me controlling the direction.Rather than purchasing a new joystick or simply "deal with it", this tool set allows me to get inside the joystick and fix the issue. Please keep in mind that my repair was simple, and I have zero technical training in joystick repairing. I took a picture to show the entire set, which has 2 chips, 4 specialized tools and 4 button covers. To be so small, it is a versatile set. The tools can be used for other intricate applications and the covers are great for keeping a grip on the joystick without fatigue setting in too quickly.I am brand new to the VR world and am having a blast discovering this breakthrough of technology and REALLY need a smooth joystick as I navigate. I was/am happy to find a quick fix, because I have worlds to explore and games to experience!

The kit really did include everything you need for this replacement. The ribbon cable is an absolute beast to reseat. The rest is fairly simple to do with a bit of patience.
