I used it while playing trombone with a tuba player and a clarinet player. New Orleans style jazz. Packed the dance floor. It made a big difference.

the pedal is made very well, a quality item that will last. the cymbals that come with it are very cheap and an insult to the maker, for that much money you should not have to run out and replace them or sound like a tin can and keep them.

This hit-hat pedal really is a nice addition to my percussion rig. It is really well made and should withstand the rigors of the road; it even has its own carrying bag. My only critique is that the cymbals sound rather 'brash' and 'clashy' - I own 6 & 8" splash cymbals that sound way better and if they were paired, I'd consider using them instead. I think better quality cymbals would make a difference, but would likely add considerably to the pedal's overall price. I've spent lots of time adjusting the clutch, the tension on the felts, etc. until I've found a sound that is acceptable for my needs. For my use, this pedal adds color to certain songs in my repertoire, but not all. All said, I have no regrets with having purchased this pedal.

There’s no assembly instructions, so it’s actually impossible to review the product because I can’t put it together. I have assembled a standard size HH on my kit, but this one’s different. I’m sure there are people who can do it. But for those of us who can’t some directions would’ve been helpful.

A funky little piece of hardware, only suitable for specific situations but I like it and enjoy something different.Only downside is that you cannot adjust the tension at all, and it is pretty stiff compared to other hi-hatsAlso, the cymbals it comes with are terrible, but I was expecting that

Definitely conga, cajon accoustic setting usable. The more I use it the more I like it. Adds a good feel to my bossa conga sounds. Feels comfortable, natural and similar to a normal hi-hat to me. Has a slight swoosh sound that resembles a cabasa to my ear ... I like that as I want to use it to add a bit of latin feel. I almost did not buy this because of the few and negative reviews, it is pricey but for the unique tool it is if it worked well I really can use it. I think it will. I will post again in a few months. I did have a quality control problem as it was shipped without the hi-hat clutch ... BUT Amazon had a complete new unit out in less than 48 hours ... how can you beat that for service and it was a no hassle chat session they used so no tension.

I use this with my cajon and a DW5000 cajon pedal for acoustic gigs with my band. Everyone loves the way it’s allowed me to give the music more of a drum set groove.
