I first bought this surprisingly inexpensive Oolong tea from a favorite Cantonese restaurant that served it — Hop Ki in NYC’s Chinatown — because it is same very good tea as was served there. I always thought it must just be the Chinese restaurant ambience that made their tea taste better than I was able to duplicate at home. I like and drink several different varieties of good tea. But, as far as good “Chinese restaurant tea” goes, this is the real deal!

This is one of my favorite bag teas, and I can't find a store around here that sells it, so I get it online at about the same price I paid at the store where I used to buy it.

After I had already ordered 6 boxes of this brand of Oolong tea, I decided to read the reviews as this is not my usual brand of Oolong tea. One of reviews mentioned that this tea contains Lead. I thought this must be inaccurate/wrong because none of the other reviews mentioned anything about it. However, I kept this information in the back of my mind. I received the tea today and I looked the boxes over to see if it said anything about containing Lead. Sure enough, there's a statement on the side of each box that reads: "Consuming this product can expose you to chemicals including Lead..." I bought this brand of tea for a family member who drinks Oolong tea almost every day, but I can't have them drink something that may be harmful to their health. As such, all 6 boxes were immediately tossed in the garbage can. I would not advise anyone to buy Dynasty Oolong tea. I have never seen nor read this same statement on other brands of Oolong tea I have bought in the past.

I had bought this brand's oolong tea for years at the local supermarket, but they closed. I am glad that I found it on Amazon. Many brand's oolong tea has less flavor, but this has a rich flavor, so I feel refresh in my mouth after I have a meal all the time.

Dynasty has been my go to brand for many years when it comes to Oolong tea.The flavor is very authentic to what you would find in China while not being rediculously expensive like some of the more trendy brands of Oolong tea can be.At one point say 10 years ago or so, this Dynasty brand Oolong could be found in practically any good grocery store, however it was never placed along with other teas in the tea section. Rather, you would have to go to the "Asian" section where they sell stuff like soy sauce and Asian noodles in order to find this tea. Usually it was right next to Jasmine tea of the same brand which is also fantastic.Unfortunately little by little this brand of Oolong started disappearing from grocery store shelves. Most of the time if I stopped off at enough different grocery stores I would eventually find it tucked away in some corner, however those days seem to be over since I just can't find any locally any longer. Glad Amazon had it!

Over the years, I've become a bit of a tea snob. I highly prefer loose leaf over bagged, but this tea still holds a special place in my heart. It's got a good mild flavor, it's strong but not bitter and you only need minimal sugar or honey to really bring out the flavor. Whenever I'm in a pinch, or at work, or just want something simple, this has been my go-to for years now. One of the best bagged teas out there, great for a breakfast pick-me-up, or as an iced sun tea.
