Picked these up just to burn some fatty rods. Surprisingly they are pretty decent. Bought two ten pound boxes. Packaging is OK, nothing special, would be better if the rods were vacuum sealed being 7018 lo-hi rods.Set my welder to 170 amps and these bad boys struck easy and burned consistent. Being 3/16 rods they left a nice fat willy worm bead.Other reviewer mentioned rods sticking and bad running. I've had no such issues. Could be the case he got a bad batch, I have certainly got turd rods before.Overall for the price. Thumbs up!

I ordered some 3/16" welding rods to weld some 1/2" thick steel as my prior stock was low. I used my existing stock of 3/16" rods on several different steel thicknesses with ease. Then I started using the new welding rods I just purchased. It was very difficult to practically impossible to maintain a consistent arc. A tremendous amount of slag was generated when welding. I had difficulty maintaining an arc at any amperage from a low of 130 amps to 200 amps.
