This item is a reproduction of a cast iron door knocker with a cat's head and it is both charming and very authentic looking. We love it. It has two screws to mount the knocker on a door or it can be mounted on a post or just a piece of wood as a decorative piece. Our front door already has a knocker mounted on it but the door is not accessible anyway since we have a locked gate in the wrought iron fencing that encloses our entry way. We will probably mount this on one of the posts in the back near the garden. The knocker is well made, very attractive if you like black cats (we have three) you will like this door knocker. This product suits our menagerie very well.

Solid heavy piece. Screws are too short that come with it, so use your own. Looks like an antique and feels genuine.

This is such a nice looking piece of art. The cat head door knocker is a nice and solid feeling piece. The color is more brownish black than straight black but that adds some character and dimension to the item. The door knocker is smooth without any sharp points on it. The knocker itself moved freely and makes a satisfying sound when used. The item does come with two screws which are a bit on the short size if you are wanting to mount the item securely. The cat head itself looks at you from a slight angle, not straight on which makes it seem more enchanting. Overall, this is the perfect item for any cat lover as it will add a bit of whimsy to any entryway.

The black paint is too glossy (shiny) matte would have been better, I still like it
