We use surveillance headsets for a security team. The headworn earpiece plus mic are on 2 separate cables, which makes them more useful than a 1 wire system, and easier to put on and use.The mic has a good switch and earpiece. Quality matches Motorola sets so far. Been using for 18 months with Midland 2-way radios. The radios are wearing out, the headsets can likely be transferred to the next radios.

Purchased a pair of these and used them with my buddy while scouting for hunting. They worked great. Great way to stay in touch.

Picked this up based upon recommendation by another swim official. Good sound reception, and have been told that my sound is clear to others.

Nice headset. Cable is much thicker than I expected which is nice. Earpiece fits nicely into the ear and is comfortable and transmits just fine and sounds great. Looking forward in using headset while camping, hunting and during noisy conditions.

Used for Swimming Stroke and Turn Judge / RefereeThe first headset I purchased for my radio had a very small earbud. That was good in that I could still hear normally out of the ear I was using it in, but bad in that noise from the announcer or crowd could overwhelm the sound and make it very hard to hear (even with the radio volume turned to maximum). This headset has a larger earpiece which seals the ear you're using it in, allowing you to easily hear the radio without having to turn the volume way up (I was able to use the volume at about half even in a loud environment). The downside, of course, is that you'll lose the ability to hear the environment around you out of that ear - not important for judging swimming, but very important if working security or law enforcement. It is possible to partially dislodge the earpiece, leaving it a bit loose which will allow you to hear out of that ear - you will still tend to push it back in to hear a radio call though. The microphone has a large, grilled opening (vs. a very small pinhole opening on my other headset) - it's easy to be heard and understood by other radio users (though slightly more likely to catch a large water droplet from pool splash). The PTT button on the unit is large and has ridges, making it easy to find with your finger without having to try and look down to see it. The clips to attach the microphone and base of the earpiece to your clothing are a little wonky in the way they're attached (off to the side rather than fully rotating behind the microphone / audio base), which can limit your ability to attach them to the exact spot on your clothing that you'd like. The earpiece appears to be press-fit into the audio tube, allowing it to be rotated to either side depending on which ear you'd like to use, which also should allow users with smaller heads/ears to remove the earpiece and trim the tube slightly for a better fit - I plan to do this as the top curve of the audio tube is slightly too high to stay securely on the top of my ear.I've worn the headset in 106 degree heat, in the sun, for 8 hours with no discomfort.I'm very happy with this headset for my particular use case.

After ordering others that didn’t fit Midland walkies (even though it said it did), or having uncomfortable earpiece that came with the walkies, this earpiece I use daily for my job and it works really well!
