Another disappointment from EBL....Charger is a completely horrible proprietary design. There are 2 magnets that are supposed to hold the batteries in place onto the charging terminals. However, they are extremely weak magnets, and simply walking by the charger can cause the charger to loose connection with the batteries. Sometimes it will indicate full charge, and the battery is only at 1.49v, other times the battery will be as high as 1.8v.I had one out of 8 batteries that actually performs well, delivering over 12,000 Lux of illumination (across 2 tests with a charging cycle between) for 1 minute from a 320 lumen turbo mode flashlight just 4 inches from my light meter. However, out of the 8 batteries I had readings from 1947 Lux to 12,097 Lux, with an averaged reading of 3,878 lux after 2 complete charging and testing cycles.Using a Klein DMM I measured 1.8V fresh off charger on a couple of batteries, but that drops to 1.5V in about 3 seconds on the DMM. Most of them only measure 1.5V to 1.6V when the charger indicates that they are charged.I'm also unable to get consistent battery life test results, with more than 2 hours variance in the same flashlight on low setting. This could be due to the problem I noted with the charger.Regardless, the fully charged voltage drops to 1.49V within 5 minutes of removing from the charger on all 8 batteries.I would recommend looking elsewhere for rechargeable AA batteries. I will be returning these. There was one bright spot in my testing. I have a high drain flashlight that utilizes 6AA sized batteries. With the first gen 1.5V Lithium rechargeable batteries, it only lasts about 45 seconds to 1 minute on high before the light starts flashing to inidicate low battery power. However, with these batteries, it ran for just over 8 minutes before it started flashing.

EBL has two kinds of 1.5v lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. These batteries are designed to charge in a cool charging stand. The top of the battery is designed to have a positive tip and a ring that's negative (connected to the back of the battery case internally). See the third picture. The charger is designed to allow you to insert the batteries tip-first (positive side down) to charge. Cool design, but the problem is that the batteries are too light to seat themselves well enough to charge. Note the first picture with the circled batteries. The second picture shows two batteries, one of which was bad and (along with the rest) the other one I had to fiddle with to get it to start charging. All of the batteries/slots required messing with to get to charge (except for the bad battery). The way it works is that batteries which are charging have a green light. When they're done, the light goes out. The flaw in this design is that if the battery isn't well-seated, the light doesn't come on. That might lead to making you think a battery is charged, when it isn't.Better design: When a battery is inserted and charging, the ring should be red (or some other color signifying the battery is being charged). When it's done, the light should go green (most likely color) to signify the battery is fully charged. That would be in-line with all other charging appliances. This charger doesn't do that.Right now, someone at EBL is reading this review and looking their manager straight in the eye saying, "I told you we should have done it that way..."So, I returned the whole kit and kaboodle. FWIW, one battery really wouldn't charge in this charger (but I have another EBL 1.5v charger where it charged just fine). So, I guess the top negative ring might have been bad. EBL offered me $3 refund for the bad battery, but I decided to return the purchase instead.I recommend the EBL red 1.5v AA batteries and the accompanying charger. That works like a champ and is a better value.

The batteries have been good so far. Currently using them for motion decoys for duck hunting. The charger is tricky though. It can be difficult to get all the green rings to light up, indicating the battery is charging. Usually just takes a twist once the battery is in place. Be certain the EBL logo is lit at the end of charging. If it’s not lit, then your batteries are not finished charging (your power supply may have shut off, preventing the charger from finishing). Reset your power source and allow the batteries to finish charging. Batteries are done charging when the rings are out and the EBL logo is lit.

I inserted 4 of these batteries on 10/06/24 in my Schlage front door lock and I do use it a few times a day. As of 10/23/24 I'm at 93% battery life. These batteries seem to charge fine with the charger it came with. On the back of the charger, it says to only charge these EBL lithium AA batteries only. So far so good with performance of the charger & batteries.

I've bought these twice. The batteries seem to perform well for me. I use them in trail cameras and they run well at lower temperatures than alkaline. The first time I bought these was in a pack of AA and AAA sizes and the charger did both but that charger was terrible - loose fitting, very very touch to charge. The second buy was for AA and the charger was a little different with the batteries fitting a bit more snug. Still, not a fan of the charger design.

charges pretty quickly from depleted and they last way longer than the traditional rechargeable 1.2V batteries. I had never heard of this brand till I found them on Amazon and they had a decent rating I gave them a very good rating
