I’ve been using this for months now and I’m so happy I switched from the metal ones to this. The metals ones may have slightly better filtration since there r more holes n smaller holes but this bombilla barely lets anything thru so it’s amazing! The best part is that I don’t get any weird metallic flavor or taste. It doesn’t affects my Yerba or my loose leaf teas. Now I don’t have to use toxic tea bags and I can just brew it in my glass cup and drink with this bombilla. For 15$ this is an amazing deal! I’ve had mine for months and I’ve kept it super clean and it’s easy to keep clean. I’ve also never had issues with mold which is a concern I had since this was an organic straw compared to the cheaply made bamboo straws. Any ways this is a 10/10!

Coffee was becoming a PITA on backpacking trips, so I was looking for an ultralight way to have mate. Bamboo seemed to fit that bill, but then I realized that I like it way more than metal straws. So now it is my go-to at home. It filters out the mate really well.

I prefer this over the metal bombillas just due to how it insulates hot beverages from my mouth when sipping. It's a cool, organic, looking straw. I've had multiple people asking what it is.So far it's been great. It's so light that I stick this in my work bag daily. It's been solid.

It the best bombilla that I have ever had. Much-much better then any metal bombilla! It is quite big, and will work perfectly with most of guards out there. The feel of natural bombilla vs. metal one is very nice. Mate doesn't get stuck in it at all. Plus it is quite cheap. So, get it, you will not regret it!By the way, guard in the picture is this one and it is awesome:

I was impressed with this one. Before this one, we had a metal bombilla that I picked up in Chile. The bamboo in this straw is better because it prevents any lip burns from hot liquid flowing through the straw! It makes it much more pleasant to drink from. It's easy to clean, and the holes are big enough to let lots of liquid through but small enough to filter finer teas like Rooibos and Yerba Mate. We use this with any loose leaf tea or infusion that we have and it works wonderfully! No complaints! We are planning on buying a couple more. The price is right and we got what we wanted! Thumbs up!!!P.S. some people complained about the sticker coming on the straw but that's no big deal. We just washed the residue off with regular dish detergent, it was fine. Don't let that stop you from a great deal!! For 8 bucks I'm not complaining lol.

I bought two...I know bamboo grows in many different sizes, but Eco Teas has choices about what they sell and what they sent me were radically different sizes. One was just fine and fits well sitting in any of my tea cups or mugs. The other, however, well, it might fit in a sippy cup or a juice glass, it's so short and thin. If you happen to drink loose tea from an espresso cup, or perhaps a traditionally short Chinese teacup, like you see in most restaurants, you'll be set. I don't. The one that's a decent size is functional and I'm happy to have it. Obviously, it doesn't get hot like the metal ones do, which makes it preferable, allowing me to drink my tea at the desired temp. I have only used it with green tea leaves, so not the teas I have with the bits that may get caught in the small holes, like Mate or Rooibos, as some reviewers complain about. I decided to write the review before trying those b/c I'll keep it regardless. Another down side--they send them with stock stickers wrapped around them that leave a residue only Goo Gone or similar can remove. It's a pain.
