Well the video I saw 1st had this unit mounted to a pipe, with clamps included, there wasn't a pipe included. I realized I did not need it or the clamps. A simple 6 foot tall wood 4x4 fence post with a piece of wood on top for mounting it was just fine. It is accurate and the remote is easy to read, set and understand. I like it better than the short life of the brand I choose before, well worth the little extra $$.

I had a little problem getting this hooked up with the gateway to my phone but once I did it has been working well. I measured the collection and it seems to be fairly accurate. I would give this 5 stars if not for the fact that I am having to replace the battery every week. At first I think the battery lasted a few months. One day I noticed on my phone that it hadn't received an update from the gauge in a while. I checked and the battery was dead. I replaced the battery and worked again immediately. Have been watching the battery life closely and it has to be replaced once a week. I use Duracell batteries so should be good. I checked the battery to make sure it was actually low and it was

Item was easy to install with clear instructions. Accuracy seems good. Readout options are complete but a little cumbersome to remember unless you check it every day. Display is easy to read.

At first it seems like a good rain gauge. But in heavy showers it counts too little. The drops then bounce out because of the low rim and flat funnel. At Ecowitt you can buy an add-on edge that improves it somewhat. So They know the problem! Why is the design not adjusted or the border supplied??? But with the add-on edge, it still counts too little in heavy showers! Either the Edge is still too low or the clapper is too slow! So actually a bad design that can be adjusted with a little will from Ecowitt!

After buying my first digital rain gauge of a different brand I discivered it does not support automated transmission of data to the clouds. So I tried this Ecowitt rain gauge and it works perfectly. I bought two so far and both give accurate readings. It is easy to set up and transmit data to the clouds where I can retrieve in an excel file. It does not record faint rain events but this is stated in the description as a resolution of 0.01 inch. Therefore, I'm satisfied with this buy and would recommend it for use in any country.

After having several high-priced, big name weather stations destroyed by ant infestations, I decided to buy separate temperature and raingauge systems. Only the raingauge would remain at the location the previous systems had occupied, and it needed to be sealed against ants getting into the electronics. The ECOWITT WH5360B appeared to meet that requirement so I ordered one. I was delighted when I unpacked it. The unit was indeed sealed and except for the mechanical tipping bucket mechanism that had to be open to the rainfall, everything was totally enclosed in a plastic housing with no entrances for small pests. The tipper sent its tips to the electronics with a magnet, so there were no wires to be chewed and no holes for wires were needed. The assembly instructions, both the text and the drawings, were clear and easy to follow. All the necessary parts were provided except for the batteries (1 AA lithium for the sensor and 3 AA alkaline or lithium for the console). The console had no trouble locking onto the sensor's signal and it has never lost connectivity since I installed the sensor about 50 feet away from the house. The calibration feature deserves comment. Several reviewers complained about its accuracy and that had concerned me. This unit is exceptional in that it has an internal electronic calibration setting that can be adjusted any of three ways. There is a procedure presented in the manual using rainfall collected from the gauge after a storm, or you can pour known amounts of water SLOWLY into the gauge, or you can compare the reading with a nearby gauge of known calibration. Any of them will work. Unless your unit is actually malfunctioning, you should have accurate readings if you take the time to calibrate it.Both the sensor and the console look nice. The display is an attractive addition to the wall in our Florida room and we have been delighted with its performance.

This was designed by someone who had not heard of surface tension, followed probably by marketing deciding to sell it anyway after testing it. The basic problem is the funnel is far too flat and light rain simply beads up and does not flow down right away into the tipping bucket. Eventually droplets do coalesce together and get to the bucket, but the rain measurements such as hourly and rain rate are meaningless. I intended this to be a backup for my Ambient Weather Station (which BTW is well worth the money) in case its funnel clogged up. I also have a Stratus manual rain gauge for calibrating the station, so I have real, trustworthy data to compare it too.Presumably this gauge does better as the rain rate increases, but since it is totally worthless for measuring typical Seattle rain, I returned it before I got the chance to test that. Other reviews have suggested it is also worthless at very high rain rates. There might be some intermediate rain rates where it does ok, but you may never know when that is because clearly its acccuracy (using the term very loosely) is a function of the rain rate and surface tension of the funnel surface at the time it is raining. The one redeeming feature of this instrument (and is one reason I purchased it) is that it can be calibrated (in the software). However, other than that the display and software is only marginally ok. I never could figure out what the hokey bars on the left were supposed to show. But so what if the basic measurements are garbage...As for installation, it needs to provide easy ability to install to a vertical surface, as others have mentioned. For a country that can return moon samples to earth I expect a lot better.
