If you actually know your way around vehicles then this is actually a really easy install. I gave it a 3 on install just because most people probably donβt know. But knowing what my exhaust gas temp is really helps to not cause damage. Also being able to daisy chain different things together is a major plus!

Easy to install, drilled and threaded the new manifold, inserted the fitting tight, put the probe in ran the wires through firewall next to the steering shaft, plugged right into my cts3 edge and instantly detects, simple and took me maybe an hour total with drilling and threading ππ€·ββοΈ

My 10 year old sensor in the duramax went bad so it was replaced with this. Works great with my cts.

Does it's job and tells me exhaust temp. Helps protect my built 6.0 PSD.Paid to have it installed because I don't need the shards damaging my turbo, shop showed me one they were R&R'ing because of installation while attached to the motor and it looked bad.

If you have a Diesel you want to monitor EGT, and if you have an Edge CTS3 or other compatible model you need this kit to do that. The CTS3 is a great monitor, the best on the market IMO. Its ability to display readings from nonstock sensors really sets it apart. Its a sleek and good looking package too. It boggles my mind that there isn't a factory EGT gauge in a Diesel truck, but there isn't and thus to read EGT you need something like this kit coupled to the CTS3. The install wasn't that big a deal, but the use of a 2 prong Weatherpack connector on the sensor means that you need to get a fairly big connector through the firewall. Either you need a big hole (1-1/4" diameter) and accompanying grommet, or you do what I did and depin the connector so you can send the wires through a small hole and then repin them into the connector body on the other side. IMO Edge should know this is the right way to do it and just ship the connector body loose and have you pin it together on the other side of the firewall. It requires no tools to do it that way, but having to depin it requires a special tool (I have to tool, but others who don't work on a lot of GM electrical systems may not). The wiring for this system is also much more involved because it requires the starter cable. The old style probes had one plug, whereas this one has 3. Its not a big deal, but its more stuff to have to route and coil up out of the way of your feet, pedals, etc. Now the sensor being easily replaced is a great idea. I had two sensors fail on me with my previous setup, so being able to replace it without having to rerun the wiring is awesome. All in all it a reasonably priced kit that's not terribly hard to install and provides a much needed input for the CTS3.

I was kinda intimidated at first, then after watching a couple videos for optimal placement, it only took about 30 minutes to install! Most of that was removing the inner fender well! Awesome product, easy to install, would definitely recommend this to monitor your egt. I love it!!!

Product is great as advertised. I had to purchase the drill bits and appropriate tap to install. It was kind of hard to find, but i eventually found exactly what I needed at Fastenal. The install was a breeze after that.
