I did a tube swap on my little 5 watt moniprice amp and I used the EH tubes in preamp and Poweramp . They sound different and better than the stock: my guitarist buddy, who was there for the swap, also liked the sound and said that it sounds like blues junior.

Of new issues; I personally; strongly favor Electro-Harmonix over many other brand tubes. It took a much larger tube manufactured in the USA in the 1950s to beat this one out in a 5 Watt Tube Amp and that is a rare tube. When it eventually has to be replaced, if I cannot find another like the classic I just mentioned in part; after having already made comparisons though I imagine it may come down to a matter of personal taste; THIS will be it's replacement.

EHX 6V6 tube. Well built, classic 6V6 chime and wonderful and bell-like harmonics when pushed. If Leo was still here he'd be using these in all his 6V6 offerings. My go-to to replace "contractor grade" stock tubes of inexpensive Fender clones.

This has a really nice, vintage sound that works very well in a Fender Champ. Some tubes have really heavy gain, and are designed for metal, but this has a nice breakup that really feels like overdrive, rather than a fake, crunchy effect appliqued to the guitar sound.

another great find and in a 6v6 power tube. I cant say enough good things about amazons offering of vacuum tubes. old hard to find or new stock like this E-H 6v6. i keep saving time and money using amazon as my tube vender. they have everything i have needed for last couple months. i have sold a few to a vendor i used for years. if they knew i was sourcing these tubes here they would burst their electrons. no bad or damaged tubes yet. started using amazon when i found tube amp book here several months ago. very happy tube and amp tech. knowledge of vacuum tubes available here. worth what i have spend on tubes just for information i have uncovered.

This is one of the best new production 6V6 tubes I've heard, and I've tried them all. What really sets the EH apart from the others is the big, punchy, compressed low end and smooth distortion. This tube never gets flubby. It's got beatiful compression as you crank the gain and the distortion is very smooth. It also transitions from clean to distorted very smoothly making your guitar's volume control a very useful tool. The high end is sweet and never harsh, yet there's plenty of chime available. This tube has it all, a real bargain.
